A world of my own

I just been sitting here thinking about the past, the presnt and the future, all the good things and the bad that have happened in my life, the people I have know, friends I have made, the places I have been, people I have lost, financial worries, worries over my daughter, then wondering about what the future will bring and now can't stop blubbing. Yes I know, I'm a stupid soft cow.

Thanks, all hugs very much appreciated, I think I'm just gettin old, lol. Just started thinking about when I was little and my parents, (both no longer with us) and you know how one train of thought leads to another, and another and another? I think I must have gone through most of my life, things good and bad, and that was it, just burst into tears and couldn't stop crying.

Past is past, and though good to reflect on it occasionally, not good to dwell on it too much.

Your future is your future, sit down and think what you would like in the future (be realistic and not dream of winning the lottery), you may well get there.

I think some times we hide our true feelings, put a brave face on etc.

I know at work they think im a big tuffie but im not.

So its good to cry and release all that emotion.

a memory

a noise

a meal

anything and everything

Put you best outfit ion and lippy even if you dont leave the house

Even men cry.

The last 2 years have been emotionally draining for me and i will admit on a couple of occasions i have just broke down and released all the emotions with a good greet. What a feeling at the end of it as i was like a pressure cooker waiting to explode and by letting go its like the whole world has leapt of my shoulders.

It takes a real man to admit it

O.P your not a daft cow for having flashbacks of good and bad.

Last weekend I was the same, yeah I'm a guy I was sat watching a dvd of the rock band Lynyrd Skynryd.

It brought home the mortality of myself when I realised that these guys who were only a couple years older than me had all passed away. Whether that was through accident (plane crash in '77 killed 3 of them) or illness (cancer comes to mind)

Then watching it and seeing how they were in the band, that was me, young and carefree, long hair, denims, cowboy boots.

What happened over the years?? Had to conform to how society expects you to be, shirt, tie short hair for work. When in essence your body is crying out to be that carefree soul you once were.

That aside I don't think I would change a thing in my life, well maybe only give the 1st wife a miss and go directly to 2nd wife, but then I wouldn't have 3 wonderful kids either

We are all entitled to look back and reminiece, just have to take the good and go forward with it.

we all have our moments that we reminice. i had my own yesterday, a big birthday milestone of my only sister and sibling. so you think of them fondly, with good sad and painful memories. its saying that you still love them and will never forget them. but yes there is the future. i look into my sisters little girls face and i see my sis and i know she will never be forgotten.

i also say its good to cry, however it is something i have always struggled with and find hard to do.

so I raise a glass to those I loved and who are no longer here.

By saying 'it takes a real man to admit it' you're are leaving no judgement valid except your own soft standards of what defines a man. Some of us are simply not as open with our emotions as you think we should be but it doesn't make us any less of a man. Fucking rubbish. grrrrr
