Southwick

The government have announced their plans to introduce a minimum price per unit of alcohol have been abandoned. (Also plans to introduce plain packaging for cigarettes).

Good or bad thing?

Does that mean all the booze will go back to their original strengths? Well for England and Wales

Possibly...if their market demands it!! My take on it was that it only affected cheap high strength cider and cheap plonk.

As a former smoker,,,,,, I think the plain package idea is an ineffectual folly and a totally ridicules concept in construct…

As a non drinker........ I feel it is totally wrong to penalise responsible drinkers by introducing a unit price of alcohol intended to curtail either the self-destructive or antisocial behaviour of people who do not drink responsibly..
