It's Prom night !!

It is my eldest daughters prom tonight and i have managed to keep the expense under control even though it is still £250. That's everything from dress to make up!!

I was talking to one of my daughters friends mum last night and she was telling me that her daughters dress was £350 on it's own, with out anything else.

I was wondering if any of our lovely fabsters have exceeded £500 or more for this very American set up that happens today??

I think my daughters cost £300 in the end and that was considered cheap!

With everything I paid out around £300, the list was never ending. This is the third one I've had to fund.

It does seem excessive - how do people manage this on a restricted budget? And do their kids feel like the poor relations?

I guess parents of boys get off lightly too.

My daughters was really cheap

Dress £14 she chose it from ebay

Shoes £20 again from ebay

Hair £25

Total bargain,she looked beautiful and had a great time

I've got two to do when they have theirs.. they have 250quid each.

Don't think you need to spend loads.. hardest bit will be getting my daughters in a dress.

Thankfully my older daughters helped fund it , there is an awful lot of pressure, my daughter initially wasn't going to go because of the cost, but then her sisters stepped in to help. I'm just thankful I don't have to do it again for another 13years
