Have you ever had one or given them? How does it make you feel when you're on the receiving end of one?

In relation to what?

Basically its when someone pulls you aside and gives you advice without you even asking for it.

Well if a stranger pulled me aside and tried to give me advice I would tell them to bugger off!

I used to do quite a lot of public speaking within the various working environments our company operated in….!.

Often this was aimed at motivating our employees to engage with the corporate line of core values and company ethic….

However this also often resulted in me privately thinking to myself "thank-fook I’m not having to listen to this guy prattle-on"….

I meant if a mate or someone you knew did it.

third star on the right

I have been on the receiving end of one, a situation at work reached a climax and when I needed it my colleague talked me through it. Far better than management tried to do too!

We have relied on each other a lot since we work together (sort of partnered) and I have given them when needed.

Sometimes its necessary to give some perspective and say 'awful day, tomorrow will be better.....'

Important to have some idea of the situation and not sound condescending but very helpful and necessary at times though sometimes the best thing is to let the person speak and vent and get things off their chest. Depends on the situation really.
