Got a hardie that i built myself....looking at getting a norco 29er through cycle2work scheme....what u reckon of norco bikes? Seen that and a specialized 29er

Lol i'd imagine it is well worth it, im gettin me new bike through cycle2work scheme....want summat i can hammer around the forest tho lol

Do a bit, but not enough to warrant a £500+ machine. Bought a new bike 2 months ago and so far.....i've done about 5 miles on it having a quick pootle to the local park- time/opportunity seems to be a bit this on the ground this year

Have a look at decathlon, you can get a lot more for your money and I do think they do the cycle to work scheme it's worth a look, I had my bike from there about 3 years ago and I had a budget of 500 quid and I came out with one for 350 spent the rest on spd's and shoes and helmet and bits and bobs and the bike was still the same spec as the neerest competitor

I do a bit, nothing too hardcore mainly trail riding and work commuting. I spent £450 on a Specialized Hardrock Disc, it does the job really well.

My OH enjoys his cycling , tho not into serious competition riding , he does between 80 to 100 miles a week , mixture of off road and road cycling , mainly does it to keep fit . Just got a new mtb yesterday , done 35 miles on it already .......

You'd need to speak to your employer about this. There are several schemes out there and individual work places also have their own rules.

All I know now is if you don't save VAT anymore and as long as your company allow you to hire the bike for 4 years (to bring it into the 3% or 7% category) you'll save about 26% of the RRP. You used to save about 36% when VAT was saved too. This is based on sub 40% tax bracket earners.
