I see threads often about the lovely ladies of fab and the way they prepare for a meet or even a social.

Hours of prep, picking out pretty outfits, stockings etc.

Now dont get me wrong, I get my nails, brows and lashes done regularly anyway, always freshly showered, shaved and smelling nice, face on and I own plenty of pretty/sexy matching sets of underwear

BUT

its the clothes part that stresses me out, I wear jeans (skinny, black usually) all the time, normally with band tees or the occasional tight fitting shirt/top, jordans/converse etc. I dont own a dress, ive one black pencil skirt thats never been worn. I hate, hate all the pretty, girly stuff and I find it all really uncomfortable.

It honestly puts me off meeting coz I get in my own head then just talk myself out of arranging anything altogether.

So, fellas..honestly please. Do you mind if the person you meet isnt dressed up all fancy?

And ladies...anyone else not a fan?, or is it just me.

Absolutely not, you wear what makes you feel comfortable, my last meet was nearly always in joggers and a top when I picked her up. She said they're only going to be on a few minutes and end up on the bedroom floor anyway.

I always have lashes on but i rarely wear makeup unless on a night out, i genuinely cant be bothered with the faff. I do it if i really have to like we are going to an nice bar or somewhere, but the best socials i have had have been dog walks or a walk out were i can just turn up in gym/loungewear and not have to faff about. In the bedroom i make an effort but i really have 0 motivation in any other way.

Don't get me wrong I like making an effort, but dresses and overly girly outfits isn't me. I can wear them and will if it fits in with the occasion, but I'm not as comfortable as I could be wearing something else.

The last social I went on i wore jeans and a nice top. I never got any complaints.

I never wear makeup, and my hair is almost always a mess no matter how much I try and style it.

I dress for comfort - for me - not for anyone else. And if anyone has a problem with that then that's their problem, and they're not my people.

I rarely do dressed up, I'll only wear a dress if going to a club.

99% of the time I meet anyone I'll wear jeans or joggers! I don't do fancy lingerie and am just more comfortable dressed down, I feel like mutton dressed as lamb otherwise! I wear eye liner and mascara and that's it for make up and my hair dries naturally. If they don't like that version of me then they can go elsewhere.

Luckily I win the guys over with my charm 🤣

Not only do I not mind, I'd say I'd prefer it that way (as long as they're comfortable not dressing fancy).

I'm not going to do it myself, so the effort differential will be skewed otherwise.

Same for makeup.

And if it's a social then there's no need to try and dress to impress. I'd be more interested in personality than what clobber someone has on.

I don't get brows or lashes done, rarely have my nails done and makeup wise I rarely, if ever wear it. I don't hate all that girly stuff but it's just not me. I don't see it as fancy if someone does a full face, I do think I can't be arsed.

I do wear dresses and skirts often because I only own one pair of trousers (and some leggings for the gym) - I don't really see it as being dressed up all fancy.

My point is - don't compare yourself to others. Everyone has different ways of doing things and the right people will like/fancy you in the style you're happiest.

I am so not girly at all. I very rarely wear any make up at all, dont do my nails and only wear dresses on holiday somewhere warm. For a social its leggings or jeans and a nice top, could just be a crisp white tshirt, nothing fancy, and most likely with trainers. For something more than a social, probably something similar with nice lingerie but its not staying on so it doesnt really matter. Id rather be comfy and myself.

If we’re meeting, then I’d much rather you were comfortable and at ease.

If that means you’re wearing one of several variations of black T-shirt with tour dates on the back, then that actually gives us something to talk about!

Dress what your comfortable in don’t change for a person, if want to get all fancy then go for it, if you want jeans and T-shirt then do it! Personally I think tight jeans a T-shirt can be far sexier than a dress and full on glam, rather see a genuine person than someone who’s face colour will end up on the pillows 😂

I can’t do make up to save my life but I do try. Sometimes nails, sometimes not. I don’t wear jewellery. I have my signature perfume and that’s it.

I used to spend hours getting ready and stressing over every little detail and then I realised Im much happier dressing for me and what makes me comfortable. Sometimes that's jeans and Converse. Sometimes that's a dress and boots. I love wearing a dress because I find them comfy but I don't wear make up, rarely do my nails and havent worn heels in about 2 years. Im always clean and I'll drag a brush through my hair before I tie it up but I can't be arsed faffing around anymore.

I’m not looking to meet to assess someone’s wardrobe - so what you wear should be your decision

Yes it’s always nice to find some sexy undies waiting when the clothes come off but skin is probably THE sexiest outfit ever

Besides that who are us single guys trying to kid … most of us would be happy just to get a meet with someone like you let alone in a pretty dress

Always be comfortable with yourself and the fun will happen

I do all the prep and always have good sexy underwear on but my style is not girlie.

I typically wear jeans and boots etc if I'm meeting them socially, if they're coming to mine then I tend to greet them in the underwear haha.

I firmly believe you should wear what you're comfortable in, it will help you to relax and be more confident when meeting someone especially if you haven't met before.

I'm sure men don't worry about this like women do. Most guys turn up in jeans and a t shirt, I think it's fine for the lady to dress justas she wants to.

I enjoy dressing up 'all fancy' but that doesn't mean everyone does or should. I have been accused of being over dressed which to me indicates that there will always be someone who thinks you should be wearing something other than what you chose and (hopefully) look and feel good in.

I think that feeling good in what you're wearing gives confidence and that's never a bad thing
