People that have or work with disabled children !!

I wonder if you can help me, I used to have a few friends on my single profile that I used to chat to about Autism and the help that is available out there, also bereavement especially when you have lost a child, all these are very hard to cope with on our own as i am sure that you understand.

Now that profile is gone i can not remember the usernames etc that were on there.

So i wondered if you could come forward again either here or a private PM as i have another friend that would love to chat too you also.

these children can be the most chalkenging children ..but also the most rewardiperspwvting. non academic subjects such as art always seem a winner ..check out whsmith ..maybe take the child with you and see if any book lights them up and go with what works for them ..it can be fun learning from a childs perspective

Your a star, how many people would work with children with a disability. And your brave in the fact that you have taken up a challenge.

You will learn first hand, and in my opinion that is the best way.

I had a sister who had a physical and mental disability.

She sadly passed away a few years ago aged 40.

i work at a residential school for 5-19 yr olds as a support worker.

children with different needs..Autism.. Learning difficulties.. challenging behaviours.

i love my job.. can be draining at times mentally and have good n bad days but wouldnt change it for the world

every child is different no matter what, and i been doing this for 12 yrs and still learning new things

Best place to get advice and info is to to contact your local Social Services department for Info on voluntary groups, or Carers Support Networks.

My son died at eight weeks: cot death. SANDS helped me, but I didn't find the group meets in peoples houses helpful.

Who wouldn't work with him - he's just a little boy .. thank you though no one has said that before its just been made part of my job xx

I can see in twenty years at least my niece being able to walk as she has cerebral palsy..at present that is her only issue

I might be a scifi buff, but I do my research on lots of things... it could be invasive surgery or cybernetics( we are at a very new age and things WILL progress)

it will all happen, I trust myself on that

i (ladofleigh) have dyspraxia which is on the spectrum and son has a profound speech delay (due too a link with autism) feel free too chat with us if you need
