Lancashire

Bit controversial on my part maybe

But I hope he doesn't win it

He has the personality of a wet fish

Obviously like all our other tennis personalities he was born with a silver spoon on his mouth and like Tim henman was able to get to where he is know without much worry

Granted a lot of hard work too

I watched a game the other week were he brought on a mascot .. Not once did he look at the child ( who was no doubt in his element) smile at him or even say a word .. I just thought how cold he appeared to be

Lastly I just get sick and tired of the hype

Henman hill

Murray mound

All the hopes of a nation

Pity we can't focus so much attention and hope on getting our young people employment

And yes I have totally gone off the point here lol

I just hope someone with a bit of character and personality wins

If I didn't know better, Sir Alex gave him a pep talk after he lost second set, he knows a thing or two about comebacks!

I never get this comment, normally it is said from people who live in Scotland though.

All this division when people play sports I just don't get....but maybe it is because I don't care which part of the British Isles they are from I would support them

Murray has the appeal of a used condom - how any company would want to sponsor such a spoilt brat snob is beyond me. If he doesn't win this year he never will - all the decent players have been knocked out or withdrawn. Maybe its just me but he has a face I could happily slap as soon as look at him

I think he seems a really decent bloke who's inspired lots of kids to believe the can achieve sporting success if they are prepared to put in the hard works and dedication needed to reach the top level like he has….

I’ve never met the guy ….

But I think I’d rather spend time in his company that in the company of people who judge and criticise others based on nothing more than how they appear during TV interviews..

He is not a prime candidate for sponsorship that is for sure as he just doesn't come across as interesting or very likeable.

I have to be honest, he comes across as a miserable sod when being interviewed...he isn't the only one though....but...it sometimes shocks me at some of the venom that gets posted about him...I think it says more about those people than him

Torquay

From what I have seen from him on his TV interviews he appears to be more shy than arrogant, not everyone in life is loud and brash....some find it difficult to talk in public.

I'm not a big tennis fan at all, but I am guessing that his ability to play tennis at the very top is more important to him than his ability to give a decent interview on television.

Some of the descriptions of him on this thread are ridiculous and an awful lot of the remarks come across as childish to be honest.

I don't get the venom towards him, I'm not a tennis fan. I do recognise dedication and hard work, focus can make some people appear dull.

However, he hasn't said or done anything wrong.

I love the criticsm of professional sportsmen and women from people who tell you how easy it is for them and how crap they are etc often from people who couldn't run 5 ft without having a sit down. He may not be interesting to you, but he's a very very good tennis player and carries himself very well. I find it even more amusing how they seem to know the personality of the person having never met them, but I suspect those criticising would be much better players and probably be fascinating as well, if only they could manage to lift their arses off the sofa

Too true!!!

Also, at the end of his career he won't be judged by his personality, he'll be judged by his Grand Slam & tournament wins!!

It beggars belief that some people would judge the guy harshly on his post match demeanour whilst being interviewed literally 5 minutes after the emotional and physical exertion of flogging his body and soul to their maximum limits for 2 to 3 hours or more….

Ffs I wouldn’t be able to breath or stand let alone give a coherent post match interview if I were able to put out just half of what he puts out in a game..!

Good luck in the final... and well done for what you've achieved so far....
