leeds

what are your thoughts on verifications

do you verify everyone you meet??

I cant see the point of being verified by the same person several times

or

displaying verifications over a year old

I do not give verifications if I would not recommend the person to others as

no one would ever display a negative verification

We will verify those we have met even if we decide they are not for us. Long as they match their photos and profile information. Just because they are not for us doesn't mean they are not genuine.

Have verified a couple of profiles more than once if we haven't seen them for quite a while or it was a different type of meet. But not something we do all the time.

Can't see the issue with displaying those over a year old. Most of ours are at present as we haven't been as active over the last year and have been catching up with old friends.

I think they are very useful

yes - usually

if people want to show multiple veris - why not - does it hurt you?

you've got verifications from a year ago

When we first joined we would verify everyone we met, now to be honest we don't bother unless they send us a veri as I presume that means they'd like one!

Still uncomfortable with writing/displaying play veris mind as to me the whole point is to verify a person/couple is genuinely what their profile says they are not how good they are in the sack so tend not to display these.

I don't verify everyone I meet, if they haven't got any then I will. (I dont meet un-verifieds, but if I meet someone in a club/party/social)

I show approx one a month, if I feel like it, other times I mix them up a little I find showing certain veri's attract certain types of people

I always make clear (subtly) if it was a social meet or more intimate one but I am discreet

Verifications seem to have lost their way

We all seem to make the mistake (us included) of confusing verification with recommendation.

Surely a verification should basically mean....... Yes theyre a couple or whatever, and they are what they say they are...hes what he says he is and so is she!

and not .....Don't pass the chance to meet blah blah blah

The simplest thing would be to rename the verifications to Recommendations

(In my Pedantic opinion of course )

I can't see everyone displaying every single veri they receive - on my (Fox) singles profile i only have 'Meeting in Person' veri's displayed as i see absolutely no point in webcam veri's!

I also have my FB (who i have this profile with!) and i have only been veri'd by him a couple times - if i got one from him after every time we'd met i'd have hundreds of the things!!

When we're looking for a meet and go through people's veri's we tend to look out for names we recognise a lot and if they have given good honest feedback we trust their judgement on said person/couple

Its one thing having veri's on a profile, but it's also a case of reading between the lines and using your gut instinct to know which are genuine and which are 'standard' types!

If i meet people from here (even if it's just socially in a club etc) i tend to leave veri's for them

Veri's are a bit hit and miss depending on who they are for. People are judged in different ways depending on wether its a man or a woman with lots of veri's and are teated in differing ways.

I personally do not ask for verifications and have deleted some and thanked the senders for their trouble, asking them if they would like me to verify them.

There have been reports in the past about anonymous verifications, where someone offers to verify you if you verify them and you have never actually met.

I take veris with a pinch of salt! I noticed a 'gal' that joined the site on monday morning, and had 4 veris from guys that lived in all points of the compass that same afternoon! And all by 'meeting in person' that day!

Verifications sometimes cause more trouble than they're worth

Far too many nosey, stalky, territorial people with issues on here at times

I don't ask for them and I don't care if I don't get them, the proof of a good time is a second good time and im more than able to work out who I think is genuine and decent by using my brain

I had a similar problem - a guy I met at a social decided he was my best friend , and then decided to email every one of my veris and friends list saying I recommended him ' ! He was first person I ever blocked !

I had 3 veri's within minutes of doing this profile.

If you've been on the scene a while it is more than possible.

Lets face it, if I were to give out my username on one Friday night at a local club, I could rack up 60 veri's from people all over the country

I was sat with some forumites Friday night and we were all chatting, the man there wasn't on fabs, but should he join he could get 4 veri's in a heartbeat

^^^this^^^. If a person can't tell during the course of mailing back and forward, (and a telephone conversation) that something "isn't quite right" then they might have to look into the way they vet their potential meets.

When I first joined, I found verifications a great help in meeting people.

I was able to cross reference and make judgement on whether to proceed with a meet.

Whilst I don't use verifications in deciding who to meet I do use them in deciding who not to meet!

I see your point! But when the veris actually state that they met her that morning for lots of 1-1 fun, then something is obviously amiss! Especially when the guys live at least 250 miles apart! Lol

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I will always verify someone who turned up looking like their pics, whether or not we played. If the meet was crap, or the person didn't look like their pics, I won't verify them.

I choose to show the veris I want to show, however old, detailed, or bland they are. Its a feature I choose to use, and I don't have a problem if others choose to use the feature differently.

Brighton - even Hove!

I verify most people I've met whether for sex or social. Sometimes if I meet them more than once, I'll leave a separate veri, sometimes not. I don't have a hard and fast rule really.
