B*****Ds I've just had a phone call from Head Office saying I have a speeding ticket from Hull, strange thing is I wasn't in Hull on that day I was in Scotland !

They have rang on my behalf because the picture shows a blue car and mine is not blue, they reckon someone has copied my plates

Kev, one of the other common things that a "cloned" set of plates gets up to is theft of petrol, the thief goes into fuel station fills up ( could be £100 + these days ) and simply drives off, the CCTV and station staff record reg.plate number, ~~ YOURS

Not all bad news, as the police have access to the CCTV images and can confirm it wasnt you if this offence has occurred.

There is also now a requirement for anyone capable of making reg. plates to keep a record of who they were supplied to and when, but its rarely as accurate as it should be

when buying new number plates for your car you need to produce the regestration document but i have seen places like car boot sales where ppl can get new plates no questions asked and i guess thats where ppl that are less than honest shall we say are getting there plates from

Northampton

I had this problem with a few vehicles on a fleet that i managed.

It becomes a real problem and my only suggestion is to get another reg for your vehicle.

The vehicles i refer too even got tangled up in congestion charges and it becomes a real problem then.

If you want to know more pm me.

Christalx
