This is an actual instruction from my boss today.....

"No one will believe you solved this problem in one day! I've been working on it for months! Now, go act busy for a few weeks and I'll let you know when it's time to tell them."

What's the best/worst thing your boss has told you to do....?

My boss pulled ranked only once, and instructed me to do something against my belief and agreement with another colleague from another department.

So I told him that if it goes tits up, I shall make sure everyone knows that it is his decision against my advice, and he will have to pick up the pieces, as I am not going to mop up the mess for him.

Only time will tell as the project is currently on hold due to non-action by the client.

To be fair my boss only got involved when needed. I have a new boss who is senior management.....it's going to be fun not!

Reading this just makes me glad and thankful for my job. My boss of 1 year is still very cool

he's great.

I came "bruised and brow beaten" from a nasty large corporate and slowly returning to being a human being not a bloody robot in the workplace.
