I've enjoyed (still are) these Dare to show your face threads immensely, for several reasons.

I believe they are exactly what this forum needed, sometimes a forum can get a little stale or repetitive, similar threads, same people. For me, these 'Dare' threads really blew the forum open again,it's nice to see less regular and newbies posting.

I've really enjoyed not only putting a face to a name or profile but the conversations that have followed, for a little while people have dropped their guard and are showing themselves in their true form, no fear of who may be messaging for a meet and how to tell them no, we've just chatted.

Now, I wouldn't say I was surprised as such but it has been pleasant to see so many bloody lovely faces, is there such thing as an unattractive forumite on fab, really? Leave me out of this, before you say a word.

Let's hope this is just the beginning.

Newbies and those that rarely join in, step right up and enjoy. We've enjoyed your input so far.

Anyway, what's your thought on these Dare to Show threads?

Fun! Whilst I've been lucky enough to meet a fair few forumites at clubs and socials (and ok - the occasional bit of fun too!) there's plenty too far from home that I've always wondered what they looked like!

Well said! Relative new comer however my words would be, be nice to each other, we are all amazing, each to their own and all that but be nice! Loved all the pictures I have received some more than others but really love the guard down and being genuine vibe

It's been going for 4 days solid.

I was out all weekend but only spotted it sunday night cos it was pretty unmissable.

0-170 posts in about 15 minutes flat right up until about thread 41.

I think its been absolutely lovely being able to see what people look like, the realisation that they look different to ones perception, and such friendliness, been a joy to participate, even made a few friends too

It was good to put faces to names and good for random strangers to contact me and vice-versa. For a site with so many people being ultra discreet, it was a breath of fresh air and a hint of what it could have been like. I enjoyed it.

Went to the shop for a loaf of bread on Sunday and missed 4 threads

They have been a refreshing change and although I have not had time to admire every lady I would have liked (work comes first), I have been mightily impressed by those that have sent a pic.

Bearing in mind the number of "got any face pics?" messages that float around the site with no previous contact - I'm just a wee bit worried that people will begin diving on the forums with the sole intention of using the threads to achieve what they've previously been knocked back for.

So far it's all been very good natured - but i'd hate for it to go horribly wrong and would be nicer if it fizzled out at it's own pace rather than being abandoned due to people using it for the wrong reasons!

Just my thoughts!

Another thought is, it's been refreshing to see faces.

Much more personal and meaning than body shots, I've seen some face pics over these last few days and when peeping again at their profile I've suddenly realised how blummin sexy they actually are, where as looking at just body shots previously I'd thought Mmmm, yum, then moved on.

I was fortunate to not have that but do feel it has been done now and lovely to see so many new posters however I believe for some it was quick jump on the bandwagon.

However was great fun!

I have also thought other threads have suffered eg no of responses while the dare to share runs.

I only came in at thread 5 but I agree with what the OP has said.

There have been many fun and frivolous threads and I don't usually join in. I admit I thought them a bit too whimsical because I usually go for a serious debate.

However I have enjoyed the dare threads so much. I'm not shy in voicing opinions, sometimes quite forceably and this can be uneasy at times and people fall out etc etc. What I've liked about the dare threads is no matter what's been said in more serious threads, whilst those opinions are still valid, we can still all come together in harmony and show that we don't take things too seriously.

Great threads and seemed to be enjoyed by everyone - I hope everyone keeps it the way it was intended.....a bit of fun and maybe an icebreaker

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's been a strange phenomenon where face pictures are shared on a single word or one line message. Single men getting messages and women initiating contact.

I have been surprised at just how it has lasted for so long and some of those that took part. It was a sort of Fab Olympic games with people thinking it would be rubbish and then everyone getting involved.

Those joining in late may begin to feel shunned as the glamour wears off and no one responds to their swap request. I hope it doesn't lead to threads about stuck up women refusing to show their faces.

I'd like a couple of serious threads again but the forum works on crowd decisions.

Thing that occurred to me in the midsts of having an overflowing inbox today, was that with everyone getting a bit fed up with the level of bitching, backbiting, fits of 'attitude' etc which tend to drag down what is an otherwise useful and enjoyable medium, now that so many have seen the faces of so many.... maybe some of the bad side will die down...?

After all.... it's easy to be nasty to someone in the forums when you can't see their face, isn't it.

Now, when someone posts a comment that gets your back up, you might find you think twice about unleashing vitriol to someone who you now know to be a quite normal, pleasant individual at the other end of internet....

Cos now you know that's a REAL person out there...... ???

Iv really enjoyed them and the real icing on the cake is all the lerkers getting involved. Im relitvly new here myself I think 5/6 months somthing like that but from the start iv been a constant poster but thats only cos of my own confidence in myself an in honesty relly couldn't give a stuff what ppl think of me I am what I am an im extremely happy being me but I can understand the lerkers not wanting to post if your new I recon it can be quite scery abviosly you dont want some 1 shooting you down on your 1st post as if that happened you might not ever bother again. My only hope is that they all stick around as my feeling is the more thats here the more ppl you will find that you can bounce off an that can only mean more fun more laffs an for them that are here for the perpose of meeting ppl the more chance they have of that to so in my mind its all good

I only came back from Glasto on Monday so missed most of it, personally it isn't something that I would join in with as I only send my face photo out to people I am interested in meeting, and cherish my privacy.

It did seem good fun though for those that participated.

I'm am occasional poster (normally from the joint account) & full time lurker who only got involved when I saw done of my favourite regular forumites were participating, nosiness got the better of me!

I had fully intended to leave it there but got carried away with the fun of it all. I do agree it's probably run it's course now though but it was enjoyable while it lasted.

I opted out at about 15 after swapping face pics with most of the regulars and because someone on my blocked list kept asking for mine. He even resorted to Welsh at one stage

I had another nosey when it got to 38ish but had a feeling that people were just joining for the sake of getting face pics so I've left it now.

It was good fun and I had a few nice chats too although I'm not sure if I'd want to take part again. I agree with what Obi said that it could be miss used, but that's just my opinion obviously and everyone is free to post on Forums as they choose

being known as a "no fluff grumpy old sod" person.... it has been interesting

as someone who has always shown their face, it was a novel concept to begin with...it was nice, and fresh

but as with most novel ideas on here, bandwagon jumped on, everyone needed their piece

now.... to be honest, i think it is a big "in joke" if i wanted to get to know someone I'd talk and get to the stage where a picture kinda goes with the natural flow... I don't to proclaim it in a thread....

it has had its day.... now it just like i said looks stale, and is part of some "in joke clique"

It was a lot of fun for a lot of people to see other forum posters face with no hassle of more mails...it also involved a lot of newbies who were not prolific posters to join in.

Part of my original thread was noting I could trust fellow current forumites with my pic , that I don't think could be said for every profile on the site

My first intention was to be perhaps a tad more critical about the photography element of our pics but when the theme changed it seemed to work well , as it grew out of control I had no idea who some people who requested were the trust had gone and thus so had the original concept for me

Glad people enjoyed x

My initial reservation was the amount messages I received from people who’s profile names were not known to me or who weren’t photo verified,,,,,,,

So I basically set that as my benchmark….

But on the whole, it seems to have been a very positive experience and I nothing bad to say about it at all ……..

I like that its got everyone chattering and stuff and I quite like that someone asked me anyway (even though I think I scared him into silence!) but there's a bit of a cynic inside and whilst I've nothing to hide, regular forum posters are one thing but the random/never heard of/bandwagon jumpers are another.

It's put a smile on my face for the last 4 or so days and I have seen such beauty and had some great remakes back plus maybe a meet or 2 and made new friends as well so its fun we all need a party now with " Dare you party with" or "Dare to invite orthers to show your face" same thing as the norm but invite orthers that have not been on the forums xxxx
