If you don't like send an open question - rather than a closed one!

conversation just comes easier with some people than it does with others, some guys I can mail for ages and not run out of things to say, some I struggle to convers with, that's the point of mailing to see who you connect with and who you don't

Just a little tip from Rubes:

If you want a reply from me, remember your vowels, don't call me a BBW and be prepared for me not to reply if I'm not interested!

If conversation gets like that it's just time to give up. If I get on with someone conversation flows. If it's hard work, just don't bother.

I don't like getting 'how are you/good weekend' type messages so will usually just delete. Because they have a limited shelf life.

How are you?

Ok thanks you?

Yeah good

If you ask closed questions, you're going to get one word answers.

Just to be clear.. my perspective is based upon a lady suggesting she is interested not a one or two word not interested , no answer

Have had message back after my first saying your hot then yes yes mm mm yes mm

Sorry that's not a conversation and im no longer interested , even if time is short one articulate reply asking or giving something away of interest to continue and build a conversation once a week would be fine lol

Have I got this right? Your initial message was "your hot" and you're wondering why no conversation ensued?

I generally save my one word replies for the one word messages.

A one sentence message gets a short reply too.

But even some of the lengthy messages only get a short response because they've used two paragraphs (or more) to tell me stuff I had no interest in knowing and all that is left to say is OK.

I'm rather amazed that 'how are you' is classed as a decent message!

It makes me cringe when I get a how are you message when my status would clearly indicate things aren't good. Sometimes I just ignore and sometimes I let them have it. 'Well seeing as you asked....'

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find many of the men sending monosyllabic messages describe themselves as 'articulate and intelligent' on their profile.

The moral seems to be - if you're going to let your mother write your profile, you'll have to get her to write your messages too.

"Have I got this right? Your initial message was "your hot" and you're wondering why no conversation ensued?"

My bad x

I have never and would never send such a message x

No usually I craft a two or three line message depending on their profile content , not too long but long enough

Often I then receive , yer ur hot or nice bod

I would then try usually laugh that off modestly and perhaps pose a question or two to which the reply is just yes or a smiley face , so again I might try , to receive a yes or a smile again . Bear in mind usually my message is going to aim to give the lady something to continue the conversation x

"If you don't like send an open question - rather than a closed one! "

I've had "OK" as a reply to "is there anything that you would like me to bring?"

I have been on here before and the one word answers seem to come from the male half of couples profiles where they have been on the site a while with no verifications- draw your own conclusions.

Ok my perspective is the op makes a fair point one sadly I have experienced

He is requesting organise on his op not , how do I as an intelligent women respond to the endless dick two word chat up lines ? We all know sadly you lovely ladies receive about 200 fancy a fuck messages which indeed makes our op s point more poignant ?

As quality well articulated messages are so rare it can frustrating that after a well crafted message SOME ladies and obviously not you chatty articulate ones and those honest ones who say not interested posting here , but some show a vague interest but with no substance . As you ladies rightly say she he ain't that into you that's cool would be nice if they THEY not referring to you posting on here who would , they just said not interested or just ignore

We could write up to 4 essays before we can REASONABLY think ah yes another cat playing with a mouse

All this said it's up to us to be vigilant and not take this to heart many of these people are possibly school kids or men we just will never know

I think our friend above just said it was frustrating which indeed it can be

If you ladies have a gripe about shite messages from men start a thread don't hijack this one

Oh and although this may seem a rant , I is chilled and smiling just wanted a bit of fairness and balance x

Hope you get the fun you deserve, clearly a decent, intelligent guy and as a guy I can see why the ladies would see that bit extra needed as well as your above mentioned attributes. This gents is the quality of male member you are up against and why you may struggle with no pics, a short effortless profile and the charm and persuasive powers of Finbarr Saunders.

IMHO, the type of response is dependent up the type of questions being asked.

My line of work involves extracting as much information out of people as possible from time to time, and I am very good at it.

Again, as part of my job, I train people on how to extract information by asking the appropriate questions, and I am very good at role play, in fact, I love it, as being stroppy and non co-operative is a second nature to me!
