The amount of people on this site who describe themselves as being professional's is hilarious.

Not quite sure what impression it's supposed to give other than, "I'm a middle class snob."

Seriously who actually cares what social background you are from?! Has swinging become elitist or has it always been this way?

Either way it's an instant turn off for us, not intrested in the slightest!

When I work I insist on getting paid.

Those who are precious about the label deserve our sympathy. If they need it to bolster their ego or to explain their need for discretion that is a shame.

Plenty of other 'non-professionals' need just as much discretion, for much the same reasons.

Pointless label.

As someone who uses it I just think it has become one of those acceptable terms - we all use generic terms which don't really mean much.

Now that you have raised the point I'm not sure what sort of vibe it gives off, but I think I assumed it would go some way to demonstrate reliability and respect.

I think snobby and professional are too different things entirely. I also think that the amount it is used demonstrates it is not limited to snobs!

I have worked bloody hard for 2 degrees I have, & the area I work in I am considered professional & so is my husband! Nothing to do with social class, we r both working class & it's never been a worry how professional we appear.

We aren't middle class snobs but do conduct ourselves with integrity and discretion, is tht too much to ask we expect the same, & not be ridiculed for our professionalism....x

no its always been the same, i remember seeing it in one of my dads contact mags in the seventies, just means not rif raf. doesnt always mean they are snobs because there are plenty of snobs who live in council houses as well.

Take your pick, there are 'professions' such as Doctor, Lawyer, Architect etc. (yes I know there are many more considered as professions before someone gets pissy)...and there are professionals. You can have a crappy doctor, lawyer, whatever but because they are rubbish at their job they are not 'professional'. Someone who does a job considered of a 'lower order', but does it properly, efficiently and to the best of their ability is , to my mind a 'professional'

Is it any different to describing yourself as alternative? Both are generic terms intended to give people reading your profile an idea of the sort of person you are. And both will hopefully act as a filter in attracting similar people. Surely all of us have the right to describe ourselves in a way that we see as most appropriate?

I tend to think people who use this to described themselves on a swinger site, are usually implying that discretion is needed because of their job. i take it that when they request to meet other "professionals" they really are looking for people who understand and appreciate discretion.

Professional to me means someones has a demanding job and time is precious because of it! I don't have a problem with the term, I consider myself professional in my job. I am a freelance bookkeeper, doesn't sound much I am sure, but you damn well need to concentrate and know what your doing! It keeps me very busy. I have not used the term professional in my profile but have done on other sites. I am told I am also well spoken, but I don't consider myself a snob! Personally I see materialism more as an attribute to being a snob rather than someone who uses the term professional. I am more likely to read a profile with the word professional in as it tells me that person is probablu understanding of how precious free time is and therefore less likely to waste my time. Just my humble opinion to be honest

A professional is a person who is engaged in a certain activity, or occupation, for gain or compensation as means of livelihood; such as a permanent career, not as an amateur or pastime. The traditional professions were doctors, engineers, lawyers, architects and commissioned military officers. Today, the term is applied to nurses, accountants, educators, scientists, technology experts, social workers, artists, librarians (information professionals) and many more.

We describe ourselves as professional .. Because that's what we are! And it's who we are

We have both worked hard so that we can have what we call a comfortable lifestyle ..

This includes swinging !

Our "professional" status allows us enough flexi time to swing when we choose and the salary the opportunity to go to clubs attend events like swingfields and have a nice enough home to be able to host small parties.

Now this hasn't always been the case

I was once a "non professional" .. I worked just as hard .. If not harder and although this was the case the wages I earned wouldnt allow me the same comfortable lifestyle

There was no way I could have afforded to go to clubs every weekend or to treat A to sexy items from Anne summers etc etc... Add to this that the hours I worked were long and anti social which left very little free time and what free time there was was spent resting!

So I did something about it .. Worked full time , did a degree , voluntary work. And now it so happens that my career path has a professional status

We put professional in our profile because its what we are and we are proud of it

Does this mean we won't fuck non professionals ? .. Far from it !

We aren't snobs at all and can't see why describing who you are should upset so many people who would think this way

There are labels in here everywhere

Young ! .. What age do you have to put old?

Fabulous ! .. Who says so?

Vwe and vvwe ... When do you get the extra v ? Is it after 9" or 10" ? Is hate to be just short of an extra v! ;-(

BBW.. Who says beautiful? I've seen some big women who are . And some who would frighten a police horse!

The point to this is simple .. Let people describe them as they like and don't get yourselves worked up about it

In the end people will judge you for your attitude and as a person ( well we do) not what you do for a living

Just be happy !

We put professional in our profile because its what we are and we are proud of it

Does this mean we won't fuck non professionals ? .. Far from it !

We aren't snobs at all and can't see why describing who you are should upset so many people who would think this way

There are labels in here everywhere

BBW.. Who says beautiful? I've seen some big women who are . And some who would frighten a police horse!

The point to this is simple .. Let people describe them as they like and don't get yourselves worked up about it

In the end people will judge you for your attitude and as a person ( well we do) not what you do for a living

Just be happy !

We describe ourselves as professional .. Because that's what we are! And it's who we are

We have both worked hard so that we can have what we call a comfortable lifestyle ..

This includes swinging !

Our "professional" status allows us enough flexi time to swing when we choose and the salary the opportunity to go to clubs attend events like swingfields and have a nice enough home to be able to host small parties.

Now this hasn't always been the case

I was once a "non professional" .. I worked just as hard .. If not harder and although this was the case the wages I earned wouldnt allow me the same comfortable lifestyle

I have worked bloody hard for 2 degrees I have, & the area I work in I am considered professional & so is my husband! Nothing to do with social class, we r both working class & it's never been a worry how professional we appear.

We aren't middle class snobs but do conduct ourselves with integrity and discretion, is tht too much to ask we expect the same, & not be ridiculed for our professionalism....x

I would prefer peeps to describe theirselves as professional rather than a Jeremy kyle watching, dole scrounging glass backed work shy type.

But end of the day it's only a description of their circs which I interpret as they have busy lifestyles, probably higher education and means fuck all when getting down to meets and sex.

Only my opinion for what it's worth
