Last night was my daughter's 16th birthday party and the EX'S family was there including the woman that he had an affair with and is still with her (Step-sister) they were the ones that cut me off as being the bad person, why i have no idea after all i have brought up my girls single handed and he has them for 4 nights a month of which i had to take him to court to get even that and extra for holidays.

I did the biggest thing that a woman could do in that situation after 5yrs, with Ted by my side and my girls in mind i went and made PEACE with them.

Don't get me wrong i am not in anyway going to be friends with this woman and never will be.

But i am going to have to come face to face over many years as the girls grow up in my mind it was best to sort it.

I am today VERY PROUD of myself as it was the hardest thing i have ever done in my life !!! Ruby

Like I said in the other thread, you did well, you should be proud. It can't have been easy but if you have to see her again it won't be so stressful. You are showing you have moved on and have found happiness yourself.

Think of it in terms of this other woman is to be pitied, after all she's the one still with him.

I would say you did the right thing for all concerned especially your children. Having hostility and bad feeling between parents can be enormously stressful for the children as they try to tiptoe around all parties. Well done for having the maturity and grace to extend to the olive branch and I wish you and your family all the very best

nothing to apologise for in my opinion, what you did will have momentous consequences on your life and well being. Starting two threads on the same subject is hardly a crime there is one subject that is up to its eighth ...to coin a phrase "you go girl!"

Don't see your point tbh.

One subject multiple (continuous) threads is not comparable to multiple threads on the same subject where the OP states she'd forgotten that she'd originally posted.

Well done you for making the peace!

...but was this woman EVER at fault for your hubby's actions or deceptions?

My guess is...probs not!

Oh well I guess I'll have to live with that.

Why would you guess not? The woman my husband left for, actively pursued him! I've thanked her since though, she did me a huge favour and soon regretted it! Lol

Well done you! It's not an easy thing to do!

I assume your husband WAS ABLE to refuse if he wanted to?

Yes of course he was able to refuse but how can a woman who actively pursues a married man, be free from fault?

I'm not excusing him! He was a serial cheater but she was a friend of my family, who's aim was to break up our marriage. At the end of the day it doesn't matter because I wanted rid, but she's not free from blame! If she was, she wouldn't have felt the need to apologise to me!

Sorry if I've hijacked the op's thread
