York/London/Crantock

i know guys on here mail god knows how many cpls and single females non stop and good luck to them coz if u dont try u wont get as they say but why oh why do they have to send the same mail to all of us...

Weve hundreds of friends on here and saying that i dont mean friends who just wanna look at the private pics, i mean people who swing as we do and have been friends for many yrs and we all confer who is being mailed by who and most of the mail is cut and paste...it just shows what some guys think of us females...lol

i think if a guy reads our profile then sits back for a while and thinks about what he will put into the mail meaning dont just reel off the same mail to all of us..lol..xxx stella

And why not? most of the time they don't get an answer. Why should they type out a war and peace mail ( because some people expect more than one line)to every person on the off chance they might read it, but knowing they probably won't.

We have a cut and paste message when we send a no thanks, so it isn't just males who use this method.

All people have to do if it pisses them off is ignore it........and move onto the next mail they get.

Isn't that the usual advice for single males who moan about mails?

I often wonder why folk "cut and paste" this complaint into a new thread on an almost weekly basis

We work on the premise that we deserve or are owed absolutely nothing from anyone on this site, apart from the right to be here without being abused.

We are not that precious that we believe we are entitled to an in depth personal message that massages our ego. Nice as that might be why should anyone HAVE to do that.

If someone looks at our profile and likes what they see then we are more than happy with a simple one liner to that effect, after all this is a swingers site, not facebook.

It's the content of someones profile that is going to sway us one way or another, not some obsequious pm blowing smoke up our arse

It's no wonder a lot of single guys feel like second class citizens in this lifestyle when they continually encounter this sort of elitist attitude.

We get several PM's from single guys each week. Our profile is quite clear about when and where we play with guys yet most PM's seem to have missed that point.

We are not offended, we reply politely and then normally ignore any subsequent contact.

For us we are all equal on this site and as such we all deserve to be treated in the same manner.

Firstly, not all guys are frantically messaging anything and everything with a pulse to get a meet (some may well do granted).

This thread just made we wonder what your opening gambit is like when meeting someone new at the pub (just socially)? I would imagine most people start off on fairly similar common ground and go from there, no?

So why is it any different in here? I don't copy and paste, but alot of my opening messages I imagine are largely similar, I'm looking for the same thing after all, there's only so many ways you can dress something up.

Some peoples profiles make it easier to start off with something to talk about (perhaps yours does too), others don't though...

I fail to see why preferring a personal message is connected with ‘ego massaging’… it’s just another preference at the end of the post.

Anyway… some people have no preference with regards messages… some people do have preferences. The sooner people start accepting that THEIR preference is not a ‘one size fits all’ and accept other people will have their own preferences, then the less the dictators will sound like dic’s.

Express your preferences by all means, but accept it’s just that… a preference.

Could not agree more, preference is good and expecting is bad.

Lets hope we now see a lot more harmony and a big reduction in threads being started by folk stamping their feet because their preferences have not been realised and others bleating on about not getting their preferred "Moonpig" style correspondence

Your profile is the exception to the norm in that it clearly states no cut and paste messages, if only a few others who regularly complain about this had that sort of clarity in theirs

My post was not aimed exclusively at you but more at the notion that single guys have to "up their game" for some people or risk ridicule within and, as your opening post shows, without the forum environment

Preferring to receive a personal message based on your profile content is one thing but expecting it is another, and then discussing offenders with all and sundry is another matter completely.

For us a PM is a Private Message and as such we discuss them with no one.

I don't have a problem with all one-liners - I've had some lovely one-liners (which are obviously a result of the person/s actually reading my profile) which have lead to conversations and meets... (regardless of what was on their profile).

I've had huge messages and been switched off - usually because the message was so long they forgot to change all of the "guys like you two" and "lovely couple" comments.

I am sure not ALL cut and paste senders are just spamming in hope of any reply from anyone and not overly bothered who they get a "yes" from... but it sure is the case for some people.

When arranging meets online, I prefer to be a little more selective than that and appreciate when the people sending me messages appear to be also... shows we are likely to be on the same wave length.

I was about to post the same! The list of don't wants and the list of do wants is a war and peace epic in themselves. Don't want fat men, fair do's, but to then describe yourself as not fat and not thin.

We have a number of cut and paste replies, such as

Thanks but no thanks mail

Sorry but your profile says "wont meet smokers" reply

Sorry but we are outside your age criteria reply

Yes I know you really want to have sex with Jed but he won't even do it for the cash you have offered reply (not actually used this one yet but still hoping)

We also have a "cut and paste" letter to send out to people however we first read peoples profiles to see if we are within the criteria they are looking for and then add to the cut and paste basic information something personal to the person we are mailing.

We don't see anything wrong with having the cut and paste section which basically says about travel, accommodating, location, ages, verifications, pictures, our "no strings" meet policy etc, it just saves time but each mail we send is then tweaked to the individuals we are sending them to.

In my view a perfect use of the cut and paste facility, so long as there is a little bit of personal stuff in there that proves they have actually read your profile I was always quite happy to recieve them. In defence of the OP the structure and content of their profile is clear and to the point.

It may not be in a format that pleases all but it does not leave anyone who has read it in any doubt as to what they are seeking.

In the context of this thread it is completely unfair to criticise them for it.

Okay - my first forum post - maybe my last if I'm ridiculed as I'm a sweet sensitive soul (so please be nice).

I enjoyed reading the thread especially as it flipped around several sub-topics.

Firstly - I never cut and paste. Any messages I send are individual, contain the correct names etc and will be typically a 'nice' paragraph in length. If folk are happy to send and/or receive cut 'n' pasted stuff then fine - simple personal choice. As commented, anyone interested will look at your profile anyway and so there is little point in repeating those details in a message (and my profile is reasonably complete). I only message those where I feel I am a fairly good match to their requirements although I might, for example, message someone looking for up to 52 years and point out straight away that I am 55 but young at heart .. lol.

I did relate to the comment by 'tentwilly' about messages going straight to the delete bin - I still struggle with what I (repeat : what I) perceive to be a lack of manners but then that's just me. I'm beginning to think I'm doing something wrong as even when I'm a good match (on paper at least) to someone's wish-list then probably 75% of the time my message just gets deleted. Oh, and I do not send out loads of messages - maybe averaged about 1 per day.

Loved the comments by '_im53' and 'B and K' regarding highly detailed wish-lists - but then, personal preferences are a wonderful thing..

One last comment - part of my profile has been cut/pasted into someone else's profile; not sure if this is a compliment or not ... lol. When I messaged the individual to say how remarkable a coincidence that we had chosen the same words .... my message was deleted !!! I'm not sure he appreciated my humour but it did make me smile.

One last last comment - this is now several hours old as I wrote it in wordpad and then tried to add it to the thread but I needed to verify my profile first. So, at least it made me do that ... and then ... (you guessed it) ... I could cut and paste this into the thread.

i totally agree . ive as good as stopped sending mail now ,as i have always taken time and effort in composing a detailed ,polite message ,only for it to be deleted without being read ,or at best looked at and ignored.

ive never ,and never would use the cut and paste option ,but i can understand why some single men use it ,as you get to the stage where you think ,why bother ,as its only going to be deleted without being read or ignored.

Does it matter if they don't meet the requirements, surely it is better to know the do's and dont's upfront rather than waste your time.

Everyone has criteria, having lots of criteria will diminsh the number of available people but if that means you are happy when you do play rather than feeling uncomfortable playing surely it's a good thing ?

When I was looking to meet, I always tried to pick up on something said in the person's profile.

That of course could only be done when they actually said something in their profile, amazing the number of one line profiles!!

However, latterly I wasn't writing overly much simply because I've got better things to do with my time than right stuff only to have it deleted! I'm well aware that there are plenty of plonkers about here, but the real culprits aren't the guys who don't read profiles properly but those smart Alex who take delight in simply deleting guys' messages!

I totally agree with you ,and thats the reason i dont bother wasting my time constructing a personal ,detialed message anymore -they never get read are just deleted, a point which has been made by more than one member already on this thread.

"

What do you consider to be a personal and detailed message? I am genuinely curious (you can tell me via pm if you wish - no that's not a come-on lol)

I ask as I've seen lots of messages where it is very detailed... detailed about the sender... repeating everything you can find out on the profile and the personal touch being it starts with "Hello (insert username)"

I'm not saying that's what you do - I would just like to know your perspective.

mmm let me think about this one..did i mention any one person who has sent me a cut and paste message..mmm yes im still thinking..no i firmly believe i didnt and to add i wouldnt, i prefer peepr to read the profile and type a e-mail accoding to what that person sees ie: my pics and info on my profile not the same old crap he types to everyone,,im not saying im aspecial and would never think i am but getting the same e-mail from guys who are sending out to all isnt really for me, adding it say on my profile no cut and pastes and they still send them so proving my point the guys that sends them dont even read the profile or they wouldnt send them which leads me to believe they arent really bothered what or who they meet.... stella..xxxx

Gaaaawwwwd almighty, there does seem to be a lot of hot air blowing in these froums lately .....

So what if somebody sends a cut n paste message ? If you don't like what it says or how it is written, delete the bloody thing and move on to the next one...

So what if the wrong kind of people appear in the 'Looked at Me' section

So what !

So what !

So bloody what !

Stella..

your profile is VERY difficult to read. The first section is one huge list of 'do not' that all merge into one so I doubt anyone gets to the end of it.

What you are looking for is much clearer to read.

as for comments on your pics... you have 3. 2 semi graphic and 1 nice.

so 2 roads to go down... comment on the graphic and risk offending you.. only a few ways to say 'wow what a lovely stunning and beautiful open vagina'

or .. 'you look like you are having a great time with that afro caribean gentleman'

or comment on the 1 full body...

I like to think I am a decent lad.. altho I do not meet your requirements but I need to say... I WOULD NOT HAVE A CLUE WHERE TO START COMPOSING A MAIL TO YOU...

that may reflect me rather than you tho.. good luck

you think guys are getting pissed off not getting any kind of a reply full stop from folk on here, even when they put more effort into their mails?

i think that if you dont like the look or sound of someone who has contacted you then you only have to type 'no thx'. rather than ignore... i believe this is one of the reasons cut n paste mails appear to be big on here. yes its lazy, but its swings n roundabouts really...

ps. i got a cut n paste off a lady yesterday, how did i know? cause she sent exactly the same mail last week lol...so we all getting it lol...

i was just replying in general not directly, i know there are some people who make the effort to reply to mails, and most just simply ignore, but i guess in the end its your right to do what you like, personally i think its not very nice to ignore. even if you have to tell them to do one is better than nothing lol...

cut n paste and the likes will always be around i guess.......

As you say there are a lot who want a faceless person to just turn up and fuck. However as you also indicate, that's not ALL.

Some people like to be a little more selective about who they invite into their home, their bed and (as this is actually a swinging site) into their existing sexual relationship.

Neither way is right or wrong... other than being the right or wrong way for the individual/couple. Enjoying recreational sex the way that works for the individual/couple... surely that's the point.

Absolutely spot on and turns the wheel full circle

This lifestyle is all about personal choice and I always wonder why folk are so quick to complain when others choose to communicate in the way they choose to do.

Well intentioned advice is much more palatable than a group belittling

The only advice I would seek to offer is that those whose preference is to receive personal style PM's would do well to emphasise that within their own profiles as to subsequently complain about something not included in a long list of likes/dislikes is a bit churlish

My current profile heading states I do not wish to receive any new “are you interested” messages... but guess what's been arriving?

Let's be honest here.... too many people just don't bother reading profiles before sending a message.... which can only be generic messages. For me a personal message indicates the sender has actually read my profile and hopefully has selected to write to me because of a shared interest and preferences hopefully matching… yeah I got ‘hopefully’ in there twice for a reason.

It's human nature to grip about things once in a while when they keep happening..... ok may be that's not the most positive way to post about it. But out of those posts generally comes a thread with some good advice, some sharing of our differing preferences and a general heads up to help people understand where they could change their approach… well some of us live in hope anyway

i think wanting to recieve mail from peeps who are sending it to me isnt alot to ask rather than recieve mail that is being sent to hundreds of others, what im trying to say is we are all different and as such all have different wants and non wants so recieving a cut and paste from peeps who havent read our profile means the majority of the peeps sending the mail we arent really looking for...

im not wanting a 10,000 word essay, im not wanting a persons life history blow for blow but it would be very nice to recieve a mail or 2 from a person that has taken the time to read our profile and indeed to be what we are looking for..im not asking alot..well i dont think i am.... stella..xxxx

Surely the heading should be enough?

Your advice was to put something in the profile (which I agree can't do any harm).... I went one better and put it as the heading in anticipation of some people opening the profile and skipping all the text. I made clear as a clear thing can be what type of messages I don't want and yet still they come.

I don't want to stop all messages... if someone wants to start a conversation that's fine and I'm happy to chat to people I've already been chatting to.

I guess if you spend a week on a witty and meaningful first message it's just as likely be ignore as a simple 'Hello' if your not interested.

All the first contacts, winks, hello's are to see if you are interested, which you are more likely to be by the profile.

The problem is people with multiple accounts as that's the only way you know it's a copy and paste

my oh my how often do we see this kind of post ????? all these post do in my humble opinion is take up valuable server space, because no matter how many times they appear they ain't going to make a slight bit of difference.

if anyone has a problem with over whelming amounts of mail, be it the cut and paste type or not, just do the sensible thing and hide your profile till such time as you've sorted out the ones you have, then rethink your mail filter and reset it to the desired level.

it really doesn't help posting the same things over and over again, maybe the site should have some kind of filter so as to avoid threads being opened on issues we are all aware of and have no control over. nor in my opinion could you control it without damaging a very good site as it is.

sorry this is just my opinion and my view point on this subject, but like others have said "sh*t happens" so what you just ignore it and move on

Sadly it looks like you are completely hooped with this one miss.

Unless the site are going to put in place a rule that states folk have to comply with all profile requirements I guess people are just going to continue to use their personal preference to take a chance and get in touch.

Thankfully it's a very very small price to pay for the continued use of personal preference that we all get to enjoy on this site

Stella...

I have twice mentioned on here my opinion re your original post.

I also mentioned your pics as you mentioned you thought guys would like to comment on them in a message.

You have since changed your pics and I wrote to you saying I thought

1 ... your new picture was a great one

2.... also any mention re your pics was not me being rude

your read and then deleted my message with no reply.

so your quote above may be factually incorrect.

anyway I have now exhausted myself commenting on your thread and file it under ' another attention seeking post'.

good luck ...
