We don’t eat spiders in our sleep

I believed the fake story that we eat 8 spiders a year on average. I only recently found out this isn’t true.

What old wives tale/fake news did you openly believe before finding out it wasn’t true?

Who’s going to admit to the silliest one?

(Please don’t make this a conspiracy theory thing and ruin it)

Someone messaged me the other day saying that they woke up and there was a spider in their mouth.

I’m not even making it up. These rascals love an open mouth.

Because I’ve woken coughing and removed half a spider from my mouth

Apparently that’s so rare it’s negligible. Even rarer than a meet from fab!

He's right, Zoe, it's actually true. How else are men able to spin webs of deceit to the fine women of Fab?

I've eaten them in Cambodia and was very much awake.

But apparently it's a countryside myth

When I was a kid, my Mum used to say to me "You're not lying to me are you? Because I'll know - your tongue will be black. Now show me your tongue!"

And I - who was blatantly lying - would clamp both hands over my mouth and shake my head and obviously give the game away.

Now one day I was about 5 or so, and the seed of doubt crept into my mind - so after telling on myself like this, I decided I was gonna do some investigating and see if this was true.

Sadly for me, that day I had been eating Blackjacks...

"ARRRGGGHHH IT'S ALL TRUE!!!"

All my stories are true, I'm nowhere near creative enough to come up with stuff on my own! 😂

I thought mums had baby girls and dads had baby boys.

And I was at high school before I realised this couldn't be true.

There are 6 girls and 2 boys with myself and my siblings.

Only witnessed my mother go into hospital with a baby belly and bring girls home.

When my younger brother was born he came 3 months early and had a long hospital stay we weren't told about him and he wasn't discussed that I can remember as was very sick,we hardly saw my dad in the evenings, mum was doing daytimes whilst we were at school at the hospital dad was doing evenings after work.

One day dad came home with a baby boy so I assumed that's what happened.

Learning about periods and girls bodies it dawned on me dad didn't have said brother
