"Welcome to the club and thanks for speaking your mind. Dopamine dysregulation is the leading cause of anxiety and depression in people with ADHD. My weight has also fluctuated over the years, my food consumption got out of hand and in the end I had gastric sleeve surgery to make it impossible for me to over eat. I'm not medicated as awaiting diagnosis as only got diagnosed as "hyperactive" as a child as was common for girls with ADHD in yhe 80s. My son has a diagnosis of ADHD and chooses not to medicate but it is a personal choice. Some swear by it and some dislike how it makes them feel. There's far more coping strategies and more help for managing ADHD without medication now. What a great time to be alive as long as you get your diagnosis it will all be made available to you. Mrs x" Tritation is a journey, I'll say that!

"It's sad and annoying that people-usually strangers online who read/watch propaganda-need to force people who are suffering to explain themselves. All because the people who are supposed to be helping them want to cut benefits. I know loads of people who vote Reform who stupidly think they'll be better off if they govern our country and cut peoples' access to benefits. They're the same fools who think he gives a shit about them and their struggles with living expenses. " Compassion for the less fortunate and vulnerable people has gone out of the window. I am only interested in those that need our help not the few that may or may not play the system. The disabled and those in need are treated despicably in our country recently for ephemeral political gain. Those assessments and stuff they have to endure in more recent years have driven some of them to even suicide. I dont want to be part of anything that encourages or advocates that sort of treatment. And I am out as the focus of the thread was different and noone should be hijacking that.

"I always vote for the ones that have no hope of ever getting in because there all the same and promise the world and give nothing , when was the last time we got a new party in and any actually made the changes they promise the only reason there clamping down on pip fraudsters is because of the increase in cases ( which we all have seen ) and its something reform are pushing , so there hoping to pry away some of there votes , " No we haven't. Do you do research or just echo what Farage et al spouts when he's desperate for votes? In 2024 the rate of PIP fraud was negligible and put at 0%. 2025 was reported as 0.4%. Fraud is also used to describe mistakes where benefits are concerned. More errors and fraud are committed on Universal Credit claims. You can commit fraud by not understanding something on your claim form and filling it in incorrectly.

Your approach is basically telling someone with depression to cheer up, that’s not the solution either.

"I am a different person when I am not taking medication. Especially with my mind being overwhelmed I no longer bite the inside of my cheek until it bleeds when I'm anxious nor do I chew or pull my hair out and I can sit in a room without my leg shaking like an addiction going cold turkey. I can wear jumpers and t shirts without ruining the cuffs or collars from chewing them. All things I was reprimanded for as a child which turned out to be stims. I still have doom piles but they are piles and not mountains and I don't get up countless times a night to check if we have run out of ketchup or if I remembered to feed the fish Exactly this. Are your doom piles because you saw ADHD online and want the label? I mean shit, that's what we all want, isn't it? An inability to put things away. Not a lazy habit, but a dysregulation of dopamine meaning your mind just can't see that job as one you need to do. Much better to start the 1000 piece jigsaw you've been overthinking for the last month. I like burning dinner. I like arguing the point long after the point has been forgotten. I like apologising for every thing I've ever done, and the unnecessary guilt and shame associated with it all. It's all a choice so I can say I'm special. Queue up ladies, a perfectly normal relationship awaits. And all thanks to a social construct. But, seriously now, I bet you are dynamite in the sack. I bet you're intense. I bet you're eye contact and sensation. I bet your can read your partner's every move, hear every sound, taste every taste. Because that's the plus that we don't discuss. ADHD makes us so in tune with body language and subtle cues. Pair that with the dopamine chase and we are the most attentive lovers, ever. It's not about the orgasm, is it. It's about them. It's about their everything. It's about seeing who they truly are in that moment of sexual arousal. You are next level, I have no doubt
