Only recently done it to a minor extent (long after the thread had already been lost to another hijack)

Generally, i don't care much really, especially if it is just one thread. Sometimes you see it multiple times a day between a few members, at which point i begin to think..."use the private messaging system"

There's a lot of flexibility with the moderation of these forums (more so than other specialised ones on the internet) so it is bound to happen more often than not.

The forums are what people want them to be, and are people are entitled to do as they wish. If the thread OP wanted to knock it back on topic though, I would understand.

I'm reminded of a particular "couple" who would use every thread to recap what they got up to the previous night during their meet. It was bordering on embarrassing. That was the first time i wished you could ignore individual members on the forums.

No I have never done it and I wouldnt either. If I wanted to talk to friends then I would message them.

I actually think its rather rude too. It isnt fair on the OP who has tried to start a discussion around the subject they have posted on. I do think people need to respect that.

I can see how easily it can happen and sometimes a funny quote just cant go unnoticed, but there are some who do it constantly. I leave such threads alone but I do think its a shame when the OP has made an effort to join in

Depends on the nature of the thread. If it's a serious thread then it is annoying but if it's a jokey thread then it doesn't bother me.

As an OP i can sometimes think FFS stay on topic or do wish people learnt to read all of the post before making a comment without fully reading / understanding what i had said.

As for hijacking a thread for flirting, i dont mind it as long as it then continues off the thread and doesn't use up the 175 limit which on serious / mind challenging threads can kill off the topic too soon

(I have a habit of writing too much)

I think that if you start a thread on this site you have to be prepared for Everything and Everyone.
