Are you looking forward to the partial eclipse and the annual meteor shower later, once dark, this week? There's no record of these happening together for over 5,000 years.

Yep! Very much so. Although, I’m working the night shift that day, so starting a little later to make sure I don’t miss it.

Octopus energy is asking the public to use less electricity, due to the eclipse reducing the amount of solar electricity that will be generated

And there's potential for the second coming of the antichrist on Thursday if the polling is accurate 🥁

I'm always a bit useless in looking the wrong direction, and even then mistaking things for a flock a geese or something.. What time is the shower supposed to be happening?

Somewhere In The Ether…

Meteor showers this week to?

Holy shit! Please my good people - DO NOT watch this phenomenon!

You’ll all wake up visually impaired and at the mercy of the Triffids )which I will be accidentally on purpose releasing from their holding cells)

.

I'm hoping nobody looks at the sun, without protection . I'm just going to be enjoying the dark and cooling off.

Before the meteors, once night falls

Remember in 2017 when Donald Trump looked directly at the eclipse ?

Hjs brain probably got cooked via his eye sockets

As for the lack of electricity - the UK now relies on solar powered electricity generation. There'll be a deficit from the eclipse, so they will have to use expensive standby power generators.

Unless people reduce their usage today, especially this evening. I'm abroad, so I'm doing my bit

Someone was wittering on about the eclipse is a new moon and what that means astrologically

It was only later I realised that all eclipses are a new moon 🌑 (the side of the moon getting sunlight is always going to be facing away from the earth 🌍)

For the night owls, remember there's some rocks falling 12 - 1 tonight if it's a clear night (possibly)

I'm in a city centre, so the meteors will be best seen on another night.

Me too. I sat outside with a neighbour, we didn't have eclipse glasses, we just sat outside watching the level of sunshine lower. Facebook is showing photos of the eclipse in our town, people are posting about birds going bonkers etc. We didn't seem to have the same experience
