"Some areas have counselling organisations where you can get free sessions with newly qualified counsellors who just need more experience. I’ve done that in the past and the counsellor was very good. " Not all free counselling is done by newly qualifieds, many counsellors volunteer as they believe in helping and are not motivated by money. Use the internet to search there are many agencies who do not charge. Look especially for Mens groups and clubs and a HUGE well done to you for reaching out

"Hello, I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling. I shared this list in another thread yesterday - hopefully some you may find helpful: • CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) - support for men and anyone struggling with mental health, including suicide prevention resources. • Andy’s Man Club - free, peer-to-peer talking groups for men, with groups across the UK. • Never Throw In The Towel Project - A movement built on resilience, lived experience, and the power of community • Men’s Minds Matter - focuses specifically on male suicide prevention and improving understanding of men’s mental health. • Movember - resources covering mental health, suicide prevention, connection and men’s wellbeing. • Mind - information and support covering a wide range of mental health issues, with specific resources relevant to men. • Samaritans - confidential emotional support for anyone struggling to cope. • ManKind Initiative - support and information for male victims of domestic abuse. • Men’s Health Forum - UK organisation focused on improving men’s health, including mental health. • Papyrus - suicide prevention support for young people under 35. • NHS Every Mind Matters - practical advice and tools for looking after mental wellbeing. • SHOUT text support service which is free and available 24/7. Wishing you all the best and genuinely hope you feel in a better place soon 🫶🏼" Thanks for posting this. My mental health is really bad, and I got discharged from NHS talking therapies for missing a couple of appointments due to physical health issues. It's hard to find decent resources that are free. I feel like the NHS want to give up on you as quickly as possible due to demand outweighing supply.

Maybe someone else will know the name of it. If you ever want to chat to a random woman on the Internet, my inbox is open 🫶🏼

I feel like the NHS want to give up on you as quickly as possible due to demand outweighing supply. That’s such a shame and seems really unfair if you couldn’t attend your talking therapy appointments because of other health issues. I agree, it often feels like the NHS want you out the door and signed off as quick as possible ☹️ You may find the following helpful as well: National Directories: • Hub of Hope: Database to search for local or online women's groups by entering your postcode and filtering for women-specific services. • Mind: Offers "Side by Side," an online community open to adults. Charities supporting women: • Young Women’s Trust: Offers coaching, mental health resources, and additional support specifically geared toward young women aged 18 to 30. • WISH: A national charity that provides trauma-informed support, peer connection, and advocacy for women experiencing mental health difficulties. • For Women Cic: Provides peer-to-peer talking groups and wellbeing sessions designed by and for women. Social groups: • Meetup - women’s social groups around the uk - dining out, movies, dancing, drinks. • Lonely girls club - nationwide community helping women connect and make friends • We Got You Boo - kind girl meet ups around the uk • Girls On The Go - creative painting workshops, book clubs, running clubs, yoga and pilates • Ladies Circle - modern vibrant friendship group for women ages 18-45, across uk and Ireland Hope you feel much better soon 🫶🏼🌷

"Hi everyone Am struggling with my mental health. Can anybody recommend counselling in birmingham or West Midlands. Am on low income so must be free. Thanks in advance!" There are few men's groups on FB. There's one that operates out of Castle Brom so depending on which side of SC you are, that may not be so far. It's not couselling,it's just guys getting together and talking about their issues but it may help.
