It was better. But it was worse.

Malice

It was better before, when I didn't know. It was worse, but it was better. There was no pain. There was no hope. Feelings were self-directed. It was worse, but it was better.

Before I felt you, I only had me. There were no reasons because it was just me. I wasn't accountable to anyone. I lived. I worked. I played. But I didn't feel. There were so many people around me, but I was alone.

I wish I had never felt. This is worse. It's better because I have at least felt, but it's worse. So much worse. I stopped being alone. Why didn't I stay alone? Now I'm alone again, having felt. How do I go back to being alone now I know what it is to not be?

There are so many people around me, but none of them are you.

Second Star to the Right

A beautifully written piece of melancholy.

I am sure most people have felt like this at some point in their lives and can relate.

If it’s how you are feeling at the moment, i hope you have help and support to start your healing journey. 🙏

Surely one never knows these days. However if it is, Swiss has covered it with answer above.
