My first bike was a Tiger Cub. Easy to work on and light enough to throw into the back of an estate car when it broke down.

Typo error on my part should have read B175 Not d175

When I was a kid there was a chapter of local bikers called “The Black Angels” they used to meet at a seafront pub near where I lived ….. They wore similar gear to “Hells Angels” and all rode British motor bikes….

I remember drooling over rows of assorted BSA’s Triumphs, Nortons and quite a few hybrid TriBsa and Tritons and a really sinister looking Panther 600cc single cylinder with the sidecar shaped like a coffin….

If I remember right, I think there was two other North-East chapters, one called The Devils Disciples the other called The Coffin Cheaters, but I never saw those….

I’ve always loved older British Bikes, but I have to admit feeling slightly overwhelmed when I visited Kissimmee in Florida and witnessed a gathering of literally 1000’s of Harley enthusiasts who did a mass drive-by up and around the tourist strip one evening ……

OMG what a noise, what a smell, what a feeling, what a sight….. It was jaw droppingly awesome…..

The local pub I used to drink in had a bantan & cub up on the wall.

One of the blokes who used to ride with had a norton commando, the little sod knew how to ride it as well.
