I have hoovered up a sock by accident. It is stuck in the bendy hose. I've tried looking a long sick down the house to push it to one end but the stick isn't thick enough and just pushes the sock to one side. The house is about 3m long and I don't have a thicker stickthat's long enough. AArgh!!! I feel so blind/girly sometimes! !

Get a bit of stiff copper wire, bend it into the shape of a hook, fasten it to your rod with insulating tape then hook the sock up the tube

That's a tip from an electrician who all to often has to hook things through lofts, wall cavities etc

Bamboo came from the garden.......failing that you could try sucking it out of the hose yourself- if successful you can then proudly boast that you can suck a sock out of a 3m Hoover pipe- voila! an instant boost to the amount of interest you might get!

Here's my manly idea....

Disconnect the hose, put a grid, like a grill thing infront of the Hoover sucker, reverse the hose, put the hose up to the Hoover sucker and turn the Hoover on.

The Hoover should suck the sock up to the grid.

Voila!

Detach the hose (most simply unscrew) and shake/whip to dislodge the sock. Though it'd be a good idea to do this outside in case dust etc also comes out.
