I just made a brew....obviously drank it as I have just reached over to have a sip and its empty....but I dont remember drinking it, nor do I feel like ive just had a brew!

Similar things happen here. I suffer from what the kids call zimmerbrain... mind you it's a condition induced by them.

Oh meeeee, I do that, terrible isnt it.

I went out to get logs the other day..4 mile drive up the road. Got into town 12 mile drive, no recollection of the journey and 8 miles further than i needed to go!

happened to me once only ... the day I dropped the ex at the train station for the very last time, have no recollection of driving home, just arriving at the door minus him.

I did once shower and dress for work in a total panic about being late..... to then realise it was Sunday.... and I only realised that when I stopped for a newspaper on the way to work. I thought the traffic was light that day.

When I was young I remembered everything then I had my eldest kid - now I have to write everything down appointments go on the calendar the minute I get in the house, and I have notepads all over the house so I dont forget anything

only problem is I cant remember which notepad I wrote the thing I have a vague recollection of needing to do??

I blame the kids with every child I had I lost a little more of my mind - good thing I stopped at 2 cos I really dont think I have much more brain cells to lose

Dont know how old your kids are Mary hun but when I was pregnant with my oldest in 1997 I got a book telling me what to expect when pregnant and there was a whole chapter about forgetfulness and how men think we are mad

yeah like he needed and excuse to think Im mad!!

Mind you by the time I had the youngest in 2003 the chapter was expanded to tell men how to deal with our "sudden unexpected memory loss and the associated temper/mood swings"!! didnt help him not eat my last square of chocolate tho

Ohh no dont tell me that

I keep telling the kids its only a short term thing and when they leave home I will be back to normal (yeah like I was ever normal

) and even worse it will happen to them one day - oooo got to make a note to remember to wind them up about winding me up when they lose what little mind they have!

As for being happy to forget some things well having to wash nappies yup glad I dont remember that as well as I used to

Mind you I live in a perpetual state of confusion cos of all the assorted drugs the docs give me

its fun I get to blame them its not really me getting older or becoming a blonde in disguise

My kids call me Forgetful Jones - a character out of Sesame Street. Since my kids are 18, 22 and 27 and haven't watched Sesame Street in decades, sadly it sppears my memory loss is not a recent phenomenon, just exacerbated by the menopause...
