Shaving downstairs

Wife here.

I just attempted to shave with a new intimate razor.

Been a while, I usually use an electric shaver.

My mistake? Not buying the right shaving foam.

I used hubs sensitive shaving gel.

Oh it burns!

I started fine, it felt a bit tingly but I thought thats ok.

But the heat kept increasing until I had to rinse it off and cool it in the shower.

I've since looked and yes it contains menthol 🤣

Now I have a trimmed and partially shaved, but patchy vag as it was too much.

Just fair warning to anyone whos attempting it, don't if the foams not for down there.

An hour later and I swear I still feel something 🤣🤣🤣

Any recommendations on the foam you use please?

Ouch! Hope you’re not in agony for too much longer! I remember my first time doing that, it was years ago now, but it made me just use an electric razor and patience instead 😂

I've got some experience shaving down there.

Maybe if you could send a picture I could help with some further advice

Ouch! Similar thing happened to me but with shower gel and I had just shaved down there and then used gel that was minty.

I feel your pain.

I know it’s random and might not work for everyone but I actually use fem fresh down there, lather it up and use it to shave as well as clean. Works for me but might not be for everyone. The razor I use is the Gillette intimate one for down there x

I tend to shave upstairs, the downstairs bathroom is not ideal (too far from my bedroom and others may encounter me on the stairs).

Owwww! Hope it settles soon! I prefer to use hair conditioner rather than shaving foam as it gives a better glide. And I use micellar water on a cotton pad to wipe over the area once I’m out the shower and dried off as it seems to reduce any irritation and make it feel even smoother 😄

I always shave upstairs, even if it's just a beard trim. I keep everything in the bathroom, it's just easier.

Best thing to do is Veet it then shave the left over bits - I just use shower gel, no need for special foams.

Another vote for conditioner, I also use it to shave my legs.

Gently exfoliate the area before. It softens the hairs and makes for a smoother shave.

I use Superdrug shave gel, does the job and smells nice too and they do a small size if that’s handy.

Lovehomey also do a post shave spray for those intimate areas.

Hope the effect wears off quickly 😊

I read "latger" as "larger" and thought your shaving routine sounds quite fun, but with a high element of risk. Do you invite others to join in? (Asking for a friend)

It could have been lager, now that's risky

Many different recommendations on here, quite interesting seeing what works for everyone.

Personally I use a small amount of shampoo before shaving. Shower gel doesn’t seem to work very well and I usually end up cutting myself.

Every month or so I use veet for all the bits that get missed
