You open the bread bag, take what you need for toast. Do you leave the loaf exposed to the elements to get stale?

Noooooooo....bread goes back in the bread bin.....a loaf doesn't usually last long enough to go stale here.....but if it does then I just bake another......simples

I keep my bread in the fridge, as I don't eat a lot of bread, and a small loaf can last a month in the fridge!

That must get really frustrating sometimes lol.

I'll remove the silly plastic sticky tape thing that seals it and take what I need and fold the bag back under the remainder to keep it fresh for as long as possible.

Uncut bread is never in the bread bin long enough to go stale.

Bread lasts about 5 minutes in this house between hubby and his constant devouring toast (4 slices at a time at least 3 times a day) and the kids jam pieces everytime they want a drink!!

We go thru almost 2 loafs a day and if I make soup well the shops declare a bread shortage so if your needing bread today get it now before hubby goes to the shops in an hour cos Im going to get the soup made shortly

But the bag MUST be folded back over and the loaf placed upside down on the counter never left in the fridge cos it goes all soggy well if its left longer than 2 and a half seconds before someone else opens it!!

Did you know that you can get Fresh Yeast for Free?

Just ask the baker in your local Tesco (other capatalist consumer based service are available).

As yeast is a live organism they cannot sell it and an Old bakers superstition says that if they refuse their next batch will not rise

My flat in general, and kitchen specifically is too hot to leave bread out. It will be dry within a day and mouldy within 3 days. And yes I am talking about the bread still ;o)

Stays in the salad drawer of the fridge.
