the big city

Guys throwing it out there to those who travel.

How far would you travel 10/20/30/40 miles

Maybe more, who knows??

I sometimes get the impression that people are hoping their ideal match are next door.

So for us we’d travel 1 1/2 hours I’d say maybe 2 hours.

Just interested in what others would do x

North East Scotland, mostly

I have and will travel a few hundred miles for particular people. More than that is unrealistic and it does mean visits are fleeting and sporadic. I wouldn’t travel that far on spec, though, I’d tie it in with something else I was doing otherwise the pressure is too much.

I don't think distance is a huge issue if you like someone enough you will do it.

I think the only time it is an issue is in the getting to know eachother stage as until then you don't know if it's really worth your while.

Nothing ventured nothing gained

3-4 hours. Depending on traffic if I drive or the train route if I take public transport, that could be quite far. If we really like each other we can make it work. I think we'd all prefer some form of proximity. Close, but not too close.

I wouldn't travel more than a hour. The reason for this is back when maybe 2007. I travelled maybe 3 Hours and when I got there she said she felt too shy.

I get it I really do but I don't think there should be any limits until your first burn. I've even considered over seas.

I wouldn't travel more than 90mins, maybe 2 hours for a meet specifically.

If I'm tying the meet in with something else in that trip then distance is almost a non-issue. I'm pretty regularly down south so that can work well on occasion for infrequent meets.

I've done 4-5 hours long distance relationship and never again.

When we was alot more active on our old profile we'd do a weekend away somewhere and sometimes arrange a meet, if the meet fell through then we'd still have a great trip exploring the local area.. South Wales to Glasgow was the furthest in the UK.

I think more in time than distance. 10 miles in 1 direction could take 20 minutes, but in another could take over an hour at certain times of the day

Personally, I'm looking for something handy so 30 minutes or so away at most

Never usually drive more than 30 mins, seems to work.

However since making friends in the forums and one or two women who I would like to meet, I would now potentially travel hours for the right one. It’s also made me consider even going to a club social hours away to meet people from forum, but the feeling would have to be mutual!

When I was meeting I made the decision that I wouldn't travel more than an hour and if someone lived further than that we could meet halfway as long as it didn't involve either of us travelling more than an hour.

I've seen people on fab say that their experience is that when someone travels a distance there is an expectation of more than just a coffee.

My experience is the flip side of this.

I travelled 3½ hours once and the woman I met decided that if I'd done it once there was nothing stopping me from doing it every couple of weeks.

After that I decided that anyone wanting to meet me would have to make the same level of effort as I was and that included travel time/distance.

I'll buck the trend and say when I'm actively meeting, it's local people only.

My shifts mean I don't have the time or the energy to go too far. Especially if it's a new meet. In the past, when single I did travel much further, but for people i already knew and had met before.

I'd be more likely inclined to travel further when looking to meet couples with my partner, as we could make a weekend of it. It's challenging getting that 4 way attraction with another couple,so if we really hit it off we'd be more willing to go for it.

Expat: Not in the UK

Sometimes it’s best when you’re travelling and you meet someone else travelling.

Ships that pass.

Layovers.

Business Trips.

There can be something fun about a spontaneous and opportunistic connection made, even if the likelihood of any future follow up is almost impossible.

Yes, this.

I don't care to travel to meet somebody I feel attracted to. I love the trip as much as the destination. But if I feel that person doesn’t value the effort (trains are expensive too) making me feel like Uber Eats, ready to eat at home and discharge, I won't.
