As we are now finding it difficult to accommodate for a meet due to family commitments we are now considering using a hotel but were wondering do people who arrange hotel meets share the cost between them or what .....just wondering

I wouldn't bother meeting with them if they weren't willing to go half if neither of you could accomodate.

so it is a sort of etiquette to share costs of hotel meets

I don't know, I'm no expert (in this context) and have never been in that position but it would just seem like general manners to me.

Maybe if you had already booked the hotel (like you were on holiday or something) and were staying there it wouldn't be necessary but I'm pretty sure most people would still offer?

I may be way out here...

When I used to play as a couple, we would book the hotel and pay for it, expecting no payment towards the cost from the other couple. We preferred it this way because we could then use the room before and after the meet. Everyone is different though, perhaps the other couple would prefer to pay half?

Some people are tight arses, some generous so if you are arranging a meet unless you sort out that before booking then often the person who books ends up with the bill. Sharing is the norm though unless someone is staying overnight in the room then its their bill.

I use a local motel nice and comfy no prying eyes (well maybe one) and Mr Bates makes a great breakfast.

On a separate note - have you considered clubs?

Given your location - you're spoilt for choice (blatant plug for the forum social at Cupids on 27th July! lol) and it's a great way to socialise, arrange to meet other people there with no expectancy - and for couples usually pretty reasonable. And if you plan in advance you can get a shagalodge or pervier inn for under ?30!

All in all a bit of a bargain and a great night out!

Some would split the cost according to the number of participants, e.g. 3 ways for the couple to pay 2/3, and for the gent/lady to pay 1/3.

Others would split it 50/50 depending on the number of participating units, e.g. a couple + a single = 2 units.

Bedford

When we have used hotels we've assumed the person / couple that instigated the meet pay .. It works for us

york

I have had 4 hotel meets when the room was used only for the meet. I paid. Some friends of mine who were on here made it clear that they would play in a hotel but the other party was to arrange and pay. It was clear and straightforward.
