Hi guys,

I have the idea of getting a very particular tattoo for ages (as it means something special for me) but I need an advice on where to have it...

It is quite a long sentence and I've got the feeling that it would look chavy wherever I'd put it

Your ideas, fellow fabsters?

On the inside of your upper arm.

There's not many places you can write a long sentence unfortunately. X

Down your leg maybe! Depends on the actual words I guess

Well, I wouldn't be having a long sentence tattooed on my penis.... well not without lots of abreviations.

Ribs if its a long sentence. Or down your side.

Sore on the ribs though.

Sentences don't have to be one long line. Break it up into three or four words per line.

As for where, I'd say shoulder blade or upper arm.

I had the same problem especial since I am a woman. What I learned people dont like arm work on women but I dont care. Its me wearing it at the end of the day. Its me who has to look in the mirror and be confident in me. So I did what I liked not what others did. Only you can decide where it will work for you.

A friend of mine had a tattoo on the ribs and said it hurt like hell too.

Somewhere NW London

From a couple of inches below your armpit, you could extend it down all the way over your ribs, past your waist and continue it down your leg if you wanted/needed to. Rich

Could you write it yourself with a pen and see if you like it. It would be washed away in a few days and you could try a few places and look in the mirror etc. Just an idea

"Well, I wouldn't be having a long sentence tattooed on my penis.... well not without lots of abreviations. "

Ohh really?? I've got the complete Dickens collection on mine....

The sentence actually says "I'm so sick and tired trying to change your mind when it's so easy to disconnect mine"

As I said, it's something quite personal and important for me so I don't want to regret where I had it.

I had a tattoo designed by an artist especially for me

It contains words in memory of my dad

But as I love Thai culture the words are in Thai

Everyone I've spoke to says its nice

Maybe think of translating it ??

Boland speak to a local tattoo artist and get their advise. They could even stencil a few areas to give you an idea.

Nah, it's the actual sentence that I like: its musicality if you see what I mean.

So let's summarize:

The inside of the upper arm sounds good. I thought maybe wrapping the upper arm actually.

One the ribs: too ouchy, not enough muscly

Down the legs: I'm dark haired so might be complicated.

Shoulder has my preference so far.

Lower arm: saw a couple of tattoos there that looked quite chavy and it put me off a little

Penis: Enough space... Who wants to keep me hard while the artist is working?

Lower arm and lower leg tats are for soldiers and sportsmen. Keep it somewhere you can hide it if need be.

What about doing it in a spiral?

Gaudy is good, but brides like to be the only one catching attention on their day.

My mate has a paragraph on his ribs in Spanish for the fact is a dad.

It looks great on ribs or depending on the length could go any where,

I would go to the tattoos have it measured to the size you like then see we're it looks best by placing it. Most people will not mind this

I have the legs of a sportsman but I can't really say I am one...

The spiral seems like a good idea... Where then? With something around?

Any good tattoo artist should be able to give you advice on how to have it and where it's their work so they would want it to look good when having mine my artist give me great advice and how to set the portrait of my mum and dad out

I've just had a sentence or sorts done... I researched my artist and he designed it for me. It's in a shape rather than in a sentence. A good artist should be able to come up with something.

Get something in Arabic! Then later you can find out how much of a joker the tattoo artist is when you get an Arab to read it for you.
