We attended a house party recently. What we noticed was that even though it was a ‘couples’ party most of the couples ‘split’ at the party and effectively played as singles often in different rooms.

Our thing is to meet a couple and ALL play together in close proximity. As such we had some fun on our own instead. This was our first proper house party and it was a bit of an eye opener as we didn’t quite expect the dynamics to be as described.

Would be interesting to hear from our couples and their experiences and whether what we seek is hard to come by or If we are just naive ?

I think at house parties the couples often all know each other very well which is why they feel comfortable splitting away from their partners.

I’m sure that if you saw a couple you liked at the party and explained your interests you’d probably be able to all play together.

Becky and I are often playing with others at parties, it’s just the dynamic of the event.

As with couples events at clubs, the only stipulation is that you must be genuinely a couple and not a fwb couple.

Its very common for couples to then go off and do their own thing separately. We've never played together.

You'll find lots of people however that do only play together.

Have you tried couples and single ladies events at clubs?

Swinging isn't all about one specific dynamic.

Couples and 4 way attracton is incredibly restrictive so we find it very common for couples to play solo instead.

How many times do you view a profile and only one of you fancies the other half of the couple?.

At parties you have all sorts. We play together, solo no stipulations. We meet n chat and regroup. Op try and arrange to meet others in advance and make your desire known. Everyone has their barriers. No right & wrong here

I'm with you O.P. The dynamic should be known to all potential attendees but how do you suit everyone ?

I think those swinging together as a couple should play as a couple with another couple if not , THEN everyone is simply a SINGLE.

Imagine your partner going off with someone and the only person left is someone you don't like the look of , behaviour of or smell of -

Sorry for grinning but couples are thought to have all the luck here but they don't do they?

We disagree, sorry..

you can’t enforce that rule on people, if you did I think your attendee list would dwindle..

parties are dynamic, there are times where Becky may not want to play and she’ll sit and chat with friends or go and watch some fun. Why should that mean I have to stop? And vice versa.!?

We also get turned on by different things sometimes..

The party you’re describing sounds very much like ‘keys in a bowl’…

What does it even mean? I've never seen it stipulated. A couple just means 2

One club we go to your ID for that specific event your address must match.

Yeah the dynamics are so different with couples.

We’ve had couples try to separate us when we first started out but it’s not something we were keen on.

I can count on one hand how many couples we’ve met at clubs/parties where we’ve both been keen to explore more with both.

I wish couples would have a sign so it says whether they play alone as it would make it easier.

Thanks for the replies. Some very insightful messages. Certainly lots of food for thought.

Indeed we do find that clubs do tend to work better than the house party as always people there who know no-one else like us. We did actually say we wished there had been other ‘newbies’ at the party but they did all seem to know one another. We have another one in a few weeks so we will see how that one goes .

I'm actively encouraged to "go play" . It's not meant in a disrespectful way , sometimes my hubby is quite happy chatting to ppl and I see someone I like. Its that simple. I'm talking in the club scenario as not a big fan of house parties. X
