Just saw the news report video on the blue origin explosion...thank fuck noone was on that and it was just a test! That's why we have tests.

What's your thoughts on space exploration? Is it worthwhile while the world is still struggling with economies?

I'm in the yes camp .. it's not just about the getting there the technology developed to do it carries on having benefits to everyone just like Apollo and everything that came before did.

Big questions.

Or if you like, "will anyone have sex in space" for a low brow 1 point

Is space exploration worth it? Absolutely yes. In the next century humanity will either need to expand to the stars or we’ll face extinction.

The money invested in it could be used to make our planet healthier, fix the problems others have created. It seems some of these companies are looking for Planet B for the rich and useful to move to (or maybe just rich and robots)

We still haven't explored the depths of the oceans because the pressure is too much.

I'm with you sham.

Though billionaires are free to send there own money how they wish. I don't think tax payer money should be used for it.

I agree with both these points but also the above, it's absolutely worth it but not as a plan B - they have enough wealth to also explore rolling back the damage that's been done to this planet. Like massive C02 capture systems

I’m all for space exploration but not a big fan of the space rubbish left behind.

I’m also not a fan of thinking that everything belongs to us (as a species).

Still down for it though 🚀

In a galaxy far far away

NASA has just revealed it's 3 stage plan for a permanent base on the moon. That doesn't really appeal to me

Elon is obsessed with sending someone to Mars. If that happens, that would probably be the greatest achievement mankind has accomplished.

There's something I can definitely agree with, I think we could fire Elon to mars now, nevermind the testing process

I’m in favour of space exploration as an international effort though not a corporate venture or an ego trip.

Equally for space sex exploration too. If we’re gonna go as far as Mars, we may as well explore that as well. Imagine the new Astro kink categories Astro human could come up with 😂

Let's not pollute Mars with that duck.

I'd prefer to have him fired out of a cannon somewhere in the middle of the Pacific ocean...

I'm in favour of space exploration, it's time we ventured beyond our world. We don't need to wait for another century.

He's on record as saying he'd like to die on mars - just not on impact

Joking aside what hes acomplished as the head of spacex is phenominal we've had more innovation in the last 15 years than the lasr 50 mainly due to spacex R&D apporoach.

Amazing what can be done with liberal greasing of wheels with freely available cash instead of government funding.

Shame he has attached his personal brand to the efforts of others, and that he could be less of a colossal bellend promoting conspiracy and division at the same time. Should be the opposite of what space exploration should be about!

I generally don't think it is, due to the enormous cost and impact. I don't see the great gains for the benefit of all, to be doing this, whilst harming this world.

It seems to be a power grab, to conquer resources there. If humans are to go extinct here, that should be the end of us.

Space exploration is always worth it. It's one of the most noble things we as a species have accomplished.

But I'm not keen on rich arseholes using it as dick measuring contest.

It’s well worth it.

The tech trickles down to improve day to day life.

However we are further away from landing on the moon than we think and Mars is decades away.

In another reality Elon Musk is a space visionary however in ours he’s become a massive racist and a very dangerous man

to develop technology you need a reason to do so, or you simply will just accept things as they are.

1825 first train

1885 first car

1905 first plane
