Big Fluffy...

Bumble bees...there are loads around...They are beautiful. I don't remember seeing any last year. I thought there was a problem with bees...

I was deadheading some petunias this morning and one almost sat on my hand..I was more frightened of it that it was of me...

Anybody else finding this?

I've noticed them in my garden - but I've mainly noticed lots of butterflies which has been absolutely lovely!

I actually haven't seen many, and for a couple of years.

I'm just thankful the population of wasps seems to have dramatically declined in the last 5 years or so.

It's not a point it's a statement of fact.

As is that bumble bees don't sting. The little bees are the ones to worry about, but the big fluffy ones are safe.

Oops! My bad.

Apparently they can sting but are much less aggressive and only tend to do so in defence of the hive. Their stings are not barbed so it doesn't stay in the skin and is less painful.

Apparently its just me and butterflies then! I've had cabbage whites and what look like Red Admirals in the garden!

not sure if they are bee's or wasps but they are loving my fushia plants,

im buzzing as ive lots of lillys growing too.. sadly my lupin hasnt done anything
