Is distance a friend or foe?

I have had a few ladies that live close say that it is too close for comfort and I can see that for privacy, but also for convenience it is ideal. What do people think?

Depends, there's alot of preference for different reasons to unpack there for different people.

I generally prefer not to be too local mainly because this is all about new for me not accidentally meeting people I went to school with and I'm going to see at Morrisons!

Some just don’t want any potential drama on their doorstep.

It's a friend, especially in these kind of situations. I much prefer a distance lover lover, there's more excitement and less complications when its not too regular.

Depends on the distance I wouldn't want it too close but there are times when the distance is a hindrance just because it makes meeting impractical which is my current issue. I have someone I really want to meet and she really wants to meet me but we are 360 miles apart si it is going to take a bit of work and not be cheap.

Another reason not to go too local. Unsolicited visits.

It can be both - friend and foe - dependant on personal circumstances, sexual outlook and what people are looking for on here.

It's often a foe, as in the people I tend to like, are generally miles from me.I'm not one for meeting anyone Miles away.

In my situation I prefer when someone lives closer, I see distance as a hinderence. But I'm single with no kids so I don't need to worry about family life or anything.

I never have my proper location on here as I want to avoid anyone near me.

I'll happily travel for the right guy

Definitely a foe for me as I don't drive and I am not comfortable letting people drive for hours to get to me. As their expectations are then set way too high, regardless of all the chat beforehand. Also, I know from experience that once the car decides to give up the ghost, any semblance of regular meets disappears.

Distance is definitely not our friend. It turns out our kind of people are invariably 400 miles away.

I prefer further away makes it more exciting and something to loom forward to when you cant meet all that often.

But i also dont mind close im single so i dont really care if arthur down the road sees some adonis coming to take me to pound town

I guess if you're after booty calls then being close is perfect. I however prefer some distance - if someone has to make an effort to reach me (and it would be rare for me to extend even an initial invitation), then they're less likely to turn up unsolicited, or (god forbid) become a stalker. I also like the anticipation of the journey to see someone, and thinking about the plans we've made and what we're going to be doing together.

I'd rather they didn't live in the same town as me, equally I'd rather they weren't 200 miles away.

When my profile says can travel, it's true, I don't mind and would nearly always choose to travel over accomodating.

As with all things on this site OP it's going to come down to personal preference.

Back in Surrey, Dahlings!

We are 150+ miles apart and I think it is easier to meet and spend quality time together as we make the plan and are there, in the present and that time is just for us. If we were local there’d be family life, work, etc getting in the way and at least for me, that would be very frustrating.

Having said all this, I would really like to have a local FWB and have met a few men who have that potential and are much closer. But they only want to meet when it suits them/when they’re horny, which can range from every week to every year, depending on their whim. They can fuck right off. 🎀

I prefer a little distance these days.

My wife got a phonecall a while back now from our friend as I'd been spotted having a meal and drinks with another lady.
