"I love it. But only when it's fresh and well cooked. In this country the standards are quite low for seafood I feel theres many chefs who would disagree " They're welcome to disagree. Fish I can buy in the UK - which is not just Manchester - is bland and expensive compared to other parts of the world. (I'm mostly thinking of Australia, but I recently went to Portugal - them too). I still eat it, it's good for me, but it's disappointing.

"I don’t go over seas" Ok. Imagine seafood with 70% better texture and flavour than the UK. That's standard in other parts of the world. And I don't know about all parts of the world, but in Australia (which has a high standard of seafood - my family are there, which it's why my comparison), it's about half the price. And 70% better.

"Maybe you should move there if it’s that much better..." • I love seafood and we have a good variety here for the chefs but not necessarily for Joe Public. I just wish it was better value for money here. Lobster, Crayfish, Langoustines, Bream, etc. I have no appetite for Xenophobic seafood. Especially the spineless variety.

"I could live on sushi. Or calamari. Can’t eat octopus I think they’re beautiful." I made Qarnit bit-Tewm the other night (griddled octopus with olice oil, garlic and shallots). Was lush.

"I don't mind it but it's not a go-to. I would like to try lobster just to see what the fuss it about or whether it's just a vehicle for garlic and butter" If you like prawns you'll probably like lobster

"Grilled tuna, prawns and calamari in that order My son loves tuna. When he was growing up id buy fresh tuna and grill it as a special treat as it was so expensive

"I don't mind it but it's not a go-to. I would like to try lobster just to see what the fuss it about or whether it's just a vehicle for garlic and butter" Its just like a huge, gigantic prawn. I like lobster but think its overrated plus its hard to eat. Ive only had it when its already been prepared

Its taste is entirely dependent upon how much butter you can slather on it.

"Grilled tuna, prawns and calamari in that order Next time you have decent quality tuna make a marinade of 2 parts dark soy, 1 part mirin and add a sprinkle of chilli flakes. Soak the tuna in it for 20 mins (turning over once), then griddle for 15 seconds on each side in a really hot pan

I'd rather have it prepared. Overhyped.
