Twice recently I have been referred to as an ‘old soul’. I thought they said asshole, which I would have understood completely. Is this a young person thing?

I'd have thought it was more my parents generation thing. Doesn't it just mean all grown up, mature and boring for your age?

Same. I was hoping for a thread about Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Otis Reading, Isaac Hayes, etc.

Old Soul is a compliment, but I thought normally said to young people who are a bit 'older' in their way of thinking? Wise beyond their years kind of thing.

I think I'd expect someone of 59 to have an old soul...

🤔

An "old soul" is someone who possesses a level of wisdom, emotional maturity, and depth that far exceeds their chronological age. They tend to value meaningful connections, introspection, and lasting experiences over superficial trends or material success.

Definitely talking about someone else….

Yes it seems to be a polite way of calling someone an old fart…..
