Just had a message from a guy wanting to set up a meet between me and one of his mates, this mate has no account here or on Fabguys, needless to say I declined.

I get offers all the time for men to introduce their mates. I never rush into meeting, so impose the rule that they must be Fab registered, so that I can see whether they are compatible.

It's very worth having some caution and not discarding your rules

To be fair I've had further conversation with the guy and he seems sound, I'm just not happy about meeting his mate in that type of situation, at least a blind date would be set up by friends so you'd have some confidence that all should be good. Like you, a Fab account with a decent profile is a must.
