A button to reset your life - yes or no

A bit of a deep one for a sunny Sunday morning - If there was a button to reset your life and start over would you press it?

Can be a straight yes or no answer but feel free to include reasoning if you want.

Will be a yes for me.

Alter ti_elines maybe but reset? No. I think everything that happens shapes you as a person and without those things, you may not be the person you are today.

Of course not. No one with any brains would.

Questions :

When our lives are reset do we live the same life over again ?

Are we returned to infancy ?

Will I have to go through all the trauma i've gone through already ?

If I don't have all the life experiences i've already had then who will I be in the end ?

Even Marty knew not to go back and change history .....

Nope i'm leaving well enough alone.

I'd hate to restart and take a left turn instead of a right and discover that I became involved in death or destruction .... i'll just be me thanks.

No. I suffer badly from anxiety and mental depression due to an incident I can’t say publicly when I was young.

I met one woman in 1990 and lived six years of hell. Although I now have three sons and two grandchildren from one of those sons.

This woman is the most toxic bitch ever but if I reset my life id not have these children and offspring.

As much as there are things in my life I would like to be or have went differently I don't think I would reset. The main reason being that resetting would mean potentially never having or experiencing the good things/ people in my life. Plus the experiences we have shape who we are as people and as much as yes it could go better it could be far worse and I am happy with who I am as a person far from perfect but 100% ok with that.

It's not just you that shapes your life; there are loads of other factors.

If you reset you might make all the right choices thus time but still end up worse off.

So unless I could go back with the knowledge, confidence and wisdom I've gained since age 0, then that's a no from me.

No. Given the chance I would want a better or more perfect life, and that comes with a price for someone else. The job or relationship which I survived through a personal hell will be someone else’s and do it goes on. The better one’s life the more it is paid for by someone else suffering in my place.

I pay my own way, and I’m ok with how I’ve done that.

No…. My past is what’s forged my present.

I don’t regret my past (even the bad choices I’ve made).

Like everyone in this world, I’ve gone through crap and even went back to have another shitty plough through it, be it with ex partners, bad decisions and even really bad health at times and I even suffered an out of hospital cardiac arrest a few years back.. but rather then think poor me, I think lucky me as I’m part of the 2% club to survive it.

My near 57yrs have been quite a ride by anyone's standards. Highlights & low include surviving stage 4 cancer when I was given 6 months 36yrs ago, loosing my 27yr old son to suicide, loosing his mother for the same reason 8 months later, A very eventful Army career, living with type 1 diabetes, emigrating to Australia for 10yrs and loosing my left leg 7 inches bellow my knee.

I'll bore you with no more but theres heaps left... would I go through this again? I'm not sure, not even sure someday if I want it now.

However catch me in a good mood and I'll tell you its never been my intention to like James Dean leave a good looking body and die young, I'd rather broadside, skid and wheelie my way across the finishing line in a body used up with excessive debauchery and stories to shame the Angels. Once I think is enough...

It’s a no from me

I feel everything happens for a reason and it’s what makes us who we are today, plus without knowing what we already know then we’ll surely make the same mistakes and end up here contemplating pressing the reset button….

I’d gladly live it again (despite the ups and downs, losses, heartbreak etc) just to have more time with people who are no longer around and missed

No.

There's a number of things that have happened to me, or that I've done in life, that I can see have then led onto other things, that whole 'everything happens for a reason' malarkey. And alot of those have been good.

Also, I've gone through my share of rubbish times, life is good nowadays,it may not stay that way, who knows, none of us have a crystal ball, but I'm happy enough with my lot.

I think the lesson here is if you said "yes" then the metaphorical button is at the end of this message, while your heart still beats theres an option to change, theres chance, curves balls and bad luck on the way but those are just potholes to steer round. Find a dream, focus on your goal and become single minded in your pursuit. Wishing for a restart is wishing your life away, realising your dream could be your greatest achievement.

Now press here ➡️ 🔴 ⬅️ and be all you can be...

It would be wonderful if we could erase some parts of our life, never to think of them again. It's a weird one. I've been through some bad shit, but from that, the best thing in my life happened. Maybe things do happen for a reason. And id go through it all again for that.

I've got lots of deep regrets, and heartache. But if I went back there's no guarantee I'd meet my wife, or have our daughter. The joy I've experienced may never occur, and while I'd presumably be none the wiser, I wouldn't lose that for the world.

Who knows, This time I might actually drown in the Tugela, instead of surviving. Or that guy with the shotgun that we pulled up when I was in the army might actually blow my head off. No. I'm fine thanks.

Not a reset button but I would give almost anything for one particular night as my 18 year old self in 1990.

The night me and my pals went to see James at the avlc it was a great night, and I wouldn’t change a thing, except for when I got home at 2 in the morning and my dad was awake sat in his chair watching some old western, he couldn’t sleep we talked until the sun came up and to this day I wish I had asked him more about his childhood, I remember talking about myself a lot, when I wish I had taken the opportunity to learn more about him and I think that was my only opportunity, he was a man of few words.
