I had 2 front teeth knocked out years back playing rugby, so now wear dentures - which are a pain tbh

Really need to get 2 dental implants, but will freely admit i am a dental coward ( give me a boxing ring or a rugby ball im happy lol), but i really need to get this done

I need someone to convince me there is no pain and its well worth doing

Afraid not, I lost my 4 front teeth to a cricket ball. When it came to implants I was in the chair for 2 hours and it felt like the dentist was trying to drill out of the top of my head.

It was all so worth the pain and expense. I put it off for a while, just wish I’d done it sooner

All over the place

I cant promise no pain afterwards, as youd expect the site where they have inserted the metal fitting is sore for some time

But the actual procedure wasnt painful after the initial needle to numb the area, lots of pressure and not comfortable certainly but no pain

As with all things like this, research who you are choosing 😊

I found it definitely worth the discomfort for how it looks afterwards

The procedure isn't painful due to the anaesthetic but it's sore for a little while after, manageable with painkillers though. Worst thing for me was having to adapt my diet while it healed.

My dentist has recommended i have an implant, glad to read the comments above saying it's manageable with painkillers... kind of what expected then

I have had a full top and bottom set , best thing I ever did , would suggest not going abroad though , my friend bid and when she had some complications no one in the uk would touch her

Basically, the longer you leave the gap in the teeth, the more the other teeth have space to spread. Making them all weaker. Get to the dentist pronto!!

Hopefully that's enough incentive. .

I’ve got two implants, it’s not a particularly pleasant experience and not pain free, but overall not that bad and totally worth it for the end result. Just expect several visits though, it’s a long process to get it right

Of course there's pain. They're drilling into your damn jaw.

I don't know anyone who's had them and doesn't say it was absolutely worth it though 💜

No Gum shield in Then, was it a stray elbow or lazy arm ?

I've a broken tooth root from being punched when I was a teenager, it's been treated since but it's fair certain it'll go one day. I know this will be my only option so kind of dreading it I'm fairly phobic of dentists too

OP,

Are your teeth completely gone - ie knocked out or really badly broken?

I had very badly broken front teeth, essentially just part of the front of each tooth left.

Instead of implants they built new teeth using polymer - it was much cheaper and only took a couple of hours without.

Three year later, I am still really pleased with them. You cannot tell they are not my original teeth.

I've never had dental implants but dental work I find pretty painful.

I've had wisdom teeth removed (horrific), I've had braces etc.

It was all worth it though.

Soluble paracetamol and codeine are the best for tooth pain I have found.

There is pain it's a dental procedure. But the results are well worth it. They last 10 to 20 years.
