In a galaxy far far away

For me it was the first Doom on PC.

Being young and opening a door only for a demon to start shooting you scared the shit out of me

Tough call... Most games aren't that scary.

PT - was the only one I remember being really spooky.

Silent Hill 2 - was amazing.

Dead Space - was scary at times.

Most recently, a game called Cultic. Seriously grimey vibes for a 1st person retro shooter.
