I still have a Lindt bunny from Easter and I'm trying to find the right time to tuck into it.

Do you save things like that or once you see it, is it gone?

If it's a triple-pack of Turkish Delight then it doesn't see the light of day but just the blackness of my stomach. 🤤

When my family visit, they bring things I can't get here.

I allow myself a bit of a binge then save the rest.

No, I save food. I've got a 4 pack Star Bar in the freezer, well, I say 4, it's now 2 😋

I agree, it wouldn't see the light of day because that would stay in the back of my cupboard 🤢😜

Yes and when I usually want it,it's gone as one of my kids(usually the daughter) has had it.

I save special food for special occasions or a treat at the end of the week if I've been disciplined. I've done it with baklava, dark chocolate, donuts, supermalt (do drinks count?) and other desserts.

I hide my food in rogue bags of frozen veg or tupperwear, they don't go looking that far 😂

I go through phases where eating just feels like a chore I have to do, and phases where I’ll eat anything that doesn’t move. How long food stays around depends on that really.

Fry’s Turkish Delight is an exception and gets promptly demolished.

If I don't eat it the same day i buy it, i guarantee someone in this house will steal it!

It would be nice not having to devour a share bag of M&M's in one sitting, but fortunately....i mean unfortunately I have to🙄

I've never had a Supermalt before! But that's really good as a motivator. How well do they keep if you're saving them?

I get that with chocolate. Sometimes I won't fancy it and other times I'm turning the house upside down hoping for something I may have forgotten about 🙈

Chocolates and drinks can usually survive weeks, maybe months. They usually survive a couple of weeks with me.

I only have a glimpse of that when my sister, niece and nephew visit. They'll look at me eating something and I'm like "Can you control your kids, please?" before giving in 😂

When it comes to Easter, the rising price of eggs over the last 6 years had me hedging my bets and buying two luxury eggs that year. Sticking the surplus one in a sealed freezer bag, I put it in the back of the fridge and kept it until next Easter.

Sure enough, the dark chocolate Lindt egg was in perfect condition when taken out a year later - no degradation or deterioration at all! Since then, as a safeguard against rising prices, I have always been one ahead, buying a new one and sticking it in the fridge.

Given the alarming reduction of range in supermarkets this year, it was a good call.

Tbh, I long since gave up on Easter eggs. It's an incredibly expensive way to buy chocolate.

And if you start fiddling with something, they suddenly must have it instead. Seriously, is parenthood just giving everything you have to them? 🫣

I'd never considered freezing one for the next year! I usually just nab a few in the sale over the week after 😆

Get a couple cheap and stick 'em in the fridge for next year!

It's not even a case of freezing them, as they just sit quietly in the back of the fridge until next year. It might be that the dark chocolate nature of my Easter eggs plays a factor in their making it through with no deterioration, as milk (let alone white!) chocolate has a higher dairy content which might cause problems.

And that conclude this lecture on being a cheapskate around religious festivals. Next up: the cheapest pancakes EVER!!!

I've been doing weight loss for a couple of months. I have 2 Easter eggs hidden away, though have been eating chocolate, as I didn't want very rapid loss, that I could suffer from.

I often forget where I have put some food for safe keeping but do. I'm saving my eggs for JoeBeans to share
