Which is better?

I've always gone for android, mainly Samsung but my current phone is Google pixel that I bought a few years ago. Dropped it a few weeks ago, smashed the screen. Still works but need a new phone as the black spot on the screen is growing.

The one thing I would give to Android over iPhone is the updates between phones on Android is bigger. iPhone seems to be incredibly just incremental improvements so getting harder to justify upgrading.

Android. I do have an iPad though and my work phone is an apple. There isn't that much in it between them in terms of user experience. When I'm due to get a new phone just look at reviews and generally buy the one that seems best value with good specifications, which always seems to be an android one.

Been using Apple for about 12yrs, however since Apple brought in the age limit up-date, (I haven’t up dated yet)

I won’t be buying anything Apple again if I have to prove I’m 18 to a phone company., for me Apple have over stepped the mark..

So I bought a cheap new Samsung for £100 and was quite surprised what you get so in future I’ll be going android..

If you buy Apple you buy into an ecosystem and have to run everything through their system. To upload films, photos or music you have to go through their system.

Android has everything separate you can use memory cards and upload how you want.

I'll never buy any Apple product again because they're a bunch of c**ts.........

Several years ago, our son dropped his I-phone and cracked the screen. We got the screen replaced for £60ish at a local phone repair shop. A genuine replacement would have been £100's.

The phone worked with no issues until Apple released a software update and the phone locked up and wouldn't work. After investigating, we found out Apple had included software in the update that could detect a non-genuine replacement screen and shut the phone down.

I used to have an iPhone, but changed to Android some years ago because iPhones seemed to be great as long as all your other tech is on an Apple platform. Which is good for them, not good for me, or anyone else who doesn't want hose out money on overpriced (IMO) stuff.

I used to use Android I got on with it, I then purchased an iPhone realising why on earth I stuck with Android for so long.

In recent weeks I have inherited my other half’s old iMac despite technically being slower than my built PC

The way the operating system works and the speed, even just how clear the screen is I have come to yet another conclusion;

why have I stuck with windows for so long, it just makes sense. The way my phone and Mac compliment each other it’s amazing. I’m still getting used to it but there just seems to a logic to it.

I cannot see I’ll ever buy another windows machine again.

I’m beginning to sound like him

I know. But IOS is only Apple. Android has many brands using their os. It's just simpler to say apple cos everyone knows what that is. Some may not know about operating systems

I don't think iPhone is worth the money we are being charged for it, so I always go for Android. And as I don't want to have my phone permanently on charge/attached to a battery pack, I avoid big brands. I am a proud owner of an Oppo phone, and my battery can last for 2 days.

I've always had an Android phone for my personal phone.

I had an iPhone for work a couple of jobs ago and just couldn't get my head around it. Fundamentally I only had it for calls, but I couldn't even figure out how to make calls sometimes, and more often ended up accidentally phoning someone random when I didn't even intend to make a call!

Installing the updates felt a lot more difficult/complicated with Apple than it is with Android, and they were waaaay more frequent!

Android, as it has much greater flexibility than Apple, letting you customise it more.

If I love a phone, I'll stick with them for years. I'd consider a screen replacement, which EU law repair laws have helped to reduce the cost of.

The price ranges of the many manufacturers also gives much greater ability to match your needs, including buying outright upfront and paying much less for a SIM only rental, without committments

Apple. If you can't afford it and you value productivity and user experience , why would you choose anything else?

I have the same conversation with people around full frame sensors, it's not that a crop sensor can't do good stuff and I'm sure androids can function okay, but if you need the best and I can afford it, why would you not have it?

I don't really think one is better than the other. You are bound to prefer what you are used to and it will depend what you want from it.

Apple is too restrictive for my need's as it needs to be an apple phone so if you want new it's going to cost.

I'm an Android user and don't think I would change. I use Motorola and have for year's Good spec phones for under £200 for a dual sim phone without a contract it works for me.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages, I personally won’t use Android due to issues with the Play store and malware apps.

I will use a version of Android called GrapheneOS because it’s ridiculously locked down for privacy and law enforcement hates it.

I used Android personally and Apple for work, although the iPhone is a few years old, so it's smaller than the new ones.

Much prefer Android, having the comma and full stop on the main keyboard is useful, as is the press and hold to get numbers.

Over the last few years I've found a couple of apps on Apple have frustrated me compared to using the Android versions.

Have just replaced my personal phone with a Moto G86 which seems great so far.

I hate them both in equal measures. Same as the old Mac verses pc banter. There are things I love about android and things I like about iOS. There are also things I can’t stand about both of them. I will say this though, I think the gap between the 2 is getting shorter. I’ve been using android for a 6 years and only just got an upgrade and decided to go iPhone. If I’m honest I find they are both much a muchness
