Hove, mainly…

Does your family have any traditions? When I was a kid we used to all take a piece of wood on fire out the back door and in the front on New Years Day.

Every Saturday in the summer we were dragged to the woods to pick bilberries. My mum made pies with them.

I fekkin hated it, hands were stained, flies everywhere, boring as fk

Nothing for most of the year, but on Christmas eve I take my son to my parents to do Christmas there, then we go home and watch the Trailer park boys Christmas special

Lincs

Plenty of mad ones in my family.

Dancing round the Christmas tree singing Christmas carols between Christmas dinner and opening presents is the obvious one (Danish tradition - it would usually be around the whole house, the premise being to admire the hosts decorative skills) 🌲

Quite a few, but on the NY theme -

We had the coal, but a dark-haired man had to carry it in at midnight. Also had the front and back doors open to let good luck in and bad luck out!

Nope. Some family members are superstitious though. It's not the same 😂

Barnet

Strict Quaker grandma, so Sunday best as a kid, hair slicked down, off to church, Sunday roast after, no playing of any games, sit quietly reading (definitely no card games or playing in the garden with siblings). Tedious.
