Is everyone an alpha male?

Jump to newest

From the land of haribos.

I watched an interesting video from LFA, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucxDBQPEVtc he talks about all sorts of things and in this one he talked about being an alpha male and how everyone is one.

He talked how the term gets thrown around and how they place the term on certain guys, you know the bad boys, the cool manly guy, the chad.

I agree when he mentioned how this is not the right way to describe it and how it is not a personality type or a type of guy, but rather a phase that guys go through, it is called the green light to be an alpha male, between the ages 21 to 38, one of course can do it after that age but between those ages is the optimal age to be one because you are more mature then.

It would be interesting to see what your view is about it, do you also agree that everyone can be one and how it is a phase in ones life rather than a personality type?

No, not everyone is an Alpha male.

Some are Alpha females, especially the women.

And if we are only talking about men, the answer is still NO.

Stand out leaders are that by birth not by circumstance, anyone otherwise is a pretender.

Lol the ages you gave refer the the child baring years and its all twaddle anyway ,when the males ability to produce sperm is at its peak like the rutting deer or the Bull at the gate ,we after all man or beast are all here to reproduce and the label Alpha ' the dominant animal'is aimed at describing him ,in modern times it really doesnt have the same meaning he could be just as likely to fuck his mate

It’s very much the same with everything like this. If you have to tell people you are an alpha, nice guy, etc you probably aren’t or at the very least you don’t exhibit the traits to be what you are telling people you are.

What is more important is what people say about you when you aren’t in the room, that is who you are

Anyway I’m a sigma not an alpha 👍

My experience is generally those types are just guys at the very bottom of personal awareness and insecurity acting and doing what they think men are meant to do without knowing why to try and show they have value.

Even classifications like type A, B , Dom's , introvert or just so flawed and belong to the past.

But some people are so insecure they need a label for themselves

It’s all so tedious, and absolutely without scientific foundation. The way people react is situational, people with ADHD, for instance, often live shambolic everyday lives but when a crisis occurs, they are exceptional.

People are just desperate for simplicity, and labels provide that.

Aren’t “alpha males” Homosocial?

More interested in impressing the other men in the room. Probably not interested in women, except as status symbols?

A pristine town

That “alpha” thing is mostly just whatever trend currently helps men market themselves. Back in university, pretending to be a socialist got you the hotties...now it’s podcasts about dominance and discipline. Same mating dance, different costume.. Consumerism overriding evolution..fuc@@@ing love it.

Ugh, I’m sick and tired of hearing words like alpha. Anyone who describes themselves as such I immediately think “What a cunt” and have nothing to do with them.

Some labels are necessary or useful because we often want to associate with those who are similar or attracted to them, such as gay or trans; or because they allow us to have certain needs recognised and allowances made such as disability.

Social labels, though, just ugh.

Why do we have to put everyone and everything into nice little boxes? We dont all fit in a box. If a guy has to tell you he is Alpha hes probably not. I'm submissive to Women, but the amount of messages I get from people, thinking a male submissive is gay or bi, then block you when they find out your not.

We are who we are, not a box.

Reading most posts above gives the impression that people think Alpha means dominant, or someone who can punch the living daylights out of everyone else... that's not so from my understanding.

The one who can punch the living daylights out of everyone is probably - the strongest or the most able fighter.

I'm not struck by that definition, it's pretty modern and corrupted from the original.

The ALPHA in a group , is a peacekeeper, one that keeps harmony in a group , one that has empathy for the rest of the group and generally the one that OTHERS seek out for security and comfort ....

NOT the best fighter etc they don't go to dominant types or bullies for comfort and peacekeeping .. this is so in monkey troupes also.

It's such a loose term and means different things in life compared to in bed. Like a guy that's gym fit and confident dresses well and looks good but gets his misses to organise his life and make his appointments for him or chooses FIFA and fast and furious over reading and creative hobbies is that alpha energy? Is physical prowess more alpha than emotional and academic intelligence?
