Hope the Capri wasn in the process of being nicked.

The low loader theft method is likely to receive no suspicion from onlookers. I tell friends not to park in an end space if practical.

"Had

You have a point, it's the compromise India had to make with modern fuel-injection and cleaner emissions with them having to adhere to strict emissions regulations. Sign of the times with discontinuing a lot of the iconic classic engines on vehicles across the globe.

"A few currently gathering dust.

Time is such a big factor, a simple problem that needs a part to resolve can take months to find, and don't mention the price. Last year a speedometer repair took 4 months to complete and a tiny plastic gear cost £70 .

The list is always long, but not looking for anything specific at the moment. That price was for a new 25 tooth speedo drive for a Ford type 9 gearbox. It stopped an annoying oil leak. The four months was for a VDO speedo to be repaired after it failed touring Europe last year.

Its easy to fall out of love with classic cars when you look at the list of problems, but easy to forgive everything after a good drive.

I agree with that, I've had 7 for 25+ years, so much fun on a sunny day, but when your going to a wedding, having mud or bits of road kill pick up by the front tyres and flung over your passenger, doesn't make you or the car very popular, LOL

What's a good way to sell a classic car nowadays? An elderly relative wants to sell theirs, but doesn't want lots of tyre kickers & wannabe traders around their place, and looking at the auction houses they would charge £1-2k (it is a Mini Cooper that is worth £10-£15k) plus you'd have to get it there & potentially get it back if it didn't sell for whatever reserve they'll allow you. There's no room at mine for it either.
