Not gonna lie, it’s been a struggle for me recently for a number of reasons.

But how about you, how are you on a scale of 1 to 10 ( 10 being all good)

What are your coping strategies? How are they working?

I float around 5 usually.

As for coping, I kinda just focus on the important stuff like food water family work. Everything else resets daily

Sorry to hear that, Stanners; I hope you are giving yourself the self care you need.

I’ve been suspiciously ok lately, which makes me wonder why? I had to get ruthless with situations which were severely impacting me quite recently though, so taking those actions probably helped.

I could be anywhere between a 2-7 most of the time depending on the day. I have spent a lot of time probably in the minus numbers so that is a big improvement.

I have been undergoing therapy which is helping. One of the mantras I have been taught is to approach your feelings from the poibt of view of "curiosity with kindness". Essentially, when you are feeling low try and take a step bavk to think about why you are feeling low and question your thoughts to identify potential patterns. This is always done from the view of being kind to yourself.

There are loads of other thubgs, such as Transactional Analysis which is worth a Google if anyone wants to start analysing their thought patterns.

Sorrry to hear you're feeling a bit crappy. 😘

Last week was a pretty low week for me but I just tried to keep busy, the one day that gets me every year I didnt really move from my bed much all day.

Hope whatever is getting you down is soon a distant memory and you can look back at it and be proud that you’ve got through it and you’re stronger for it. I’m not one of those who say ‘everything happens for a reason’ cos there’s some proper shit things people go through and they’re never for a reason, but I think a lot of people when they’re through the storm look back at who they were then and who they are now.

And I also hope I’ve not said something that’s insensitive to your situation, I have a habit of doing things like that without realising 🤦‍♂️

Sorry to hear you're feeling that way _tanners, it's not a nice place to be in. This last week I've been hitting 1. Every waking moment is a struggle, but the thought of my kids keeps me going.

I do have a good support network and I do know life will improve. So hang in there and lean on those who can support you.

Hopping beween a 4 and 7, it was wilder than that until recently. Am awaiting talking therapy and have taken to of all things writing a bit of poetry to get the thpughts out. That has particularly helped. Ive written 3 now.

Life can feel tough. I live alone and work from home. It can feel isolated. I’m not looking for sympathy. We reap what we sow, and my mechanism is to literally list the good stuff that I have that so many people don’t. Physically safe, physically comfortable, not hungry, not in severe or chronic pain, not living in fear. All of these things are common in this country and absolutely the norm for many people in the world.

It doesn’t fix the things that cause us upset, and not to brush them off or belittle anyone’s troubles, but I think it does us good to count our blessings.

Deepest darkest Peru

April ended pretty well so I rolled into May on a strong 9!

I’ve hosted my London social which was a success so on that level I hit a 10.

Health wise things haven’t been easy. The pain and fatigue has been awful and I’ve finally admitted defeat and waiting assessment for some aids to be fitted at home

I have another big scan this month so that’s already playing on my mind

But I have lots to keep my mind busy and to look forward too so I don’t get lost in my own thoughts and lots of good people in my life who support me day in and day out

Oh and I’m off to Portugal in 17 days so I’m hoping May ends as well as it started

I'm a solid 10, I'm fortunate to be able to maintain a good work life balance, meaning that I don't get stressed out by work therefore, I'm more able to deal with any other stresses that I'm faced with.

As for coping mechanisms, I have a shed, a motorbike and a bicycle; using anyone of these things keeps me happy and content.

I'm mostly an 8, absolutely glad to still be on the planet. I have leukaemia which can't be fixed, mostly daily life isn't affected but it did have one big hissy fit last year which nearly turned my lights off. Relax, be happy and don't worry about stuff that doesn't really matter.

Sorry to hear your troubles…life is tough but you can get through it on the rollercoaster journey!

Here’s my story…

Divorced over a year now and living on my own was a struggle at first…also lost my job and car so things were pretty dark but someone randomly past me a note one day while I was just sitting in town here…it simply read “The story ends well”

Jeez that hit home… I still have the note on my table at my one bed flat I am still in even though I hoped it would be only a temp 13 months ago!

I have walked locally every day bar a couple in those 15 months sometimes only an hour, sometimes 2 or 3… again someone recommended me do it plus get some wireless headphones so I did and have…listen to music, audiobooks, podcasts, or just the radio and you don’t realise how far you walked! Although my feet do!! Thanks to an angel off fab I was able to get new walking trainers and has helped me do more steps! anyway, it has been a huge help for my mental health as well as physical with all the walking…

Just need that job now, then car or a small van and then get a better flat and place to live etc

No matter what…keep going, don’t dwell or hide away, get out and about even when the weather is bad - keep yer head up and remember “the story ends well!”

Currently I’m about a 6 but have been lower in recent times. There is a website called The Hub of Hope which I use for helping others as a MHFA. You can find specific help for whatever your needs in your local area. It’s free to use, you don’t have to register so if you feel you need help or someone to talk to then please do use it. I have so much crap going on in my life. Some of which is out of my control. However, I try to not let it bother me, I refuse to let (him) win. I’m strong. I’m a survivor. I’m there for others. I’m no saint trust me in that but I believe I’m lucky to have what I do.

My way of staying strong is to help others. To listen. I’m not wise and I don’t have all the answers but I can listen.
