"I read a few weeks ago that in so many billions of years it was going to die out (or explode, I can’t remember which) and that would be that. I think the Universe has it’s own plan." I think in about 5 billion it will go super nova expanding first then contracting if u remember rightly? Hence why eleon musk wants us to learn to travers the universe, but like 5 billion is still a long time to figure that out. | |||

Our star will expand in to a red giant in its later life and all of the inner planets will be consumed within the red giant, long before it finally dies. I can't remember if it'll be an explosion or an implosion. I think our star doesn't have enough mass for it to be an implosion, so it would be an explosion that would take out whatever was left in the solar system. Earth and all of the inner planets would be long cooked a very long time before they get consumed. | |||
