I'm a heathen. Just fork sometimes a knife too to cut into smaller lengths. As I said a cave dweller.

Fork, but it is really awkward to eat so I tend to go for other types of pasta

You do to assist twisting. Fork and spoon used for eating lots of desserts too

Fork. Using a spoon with it is not the correct way apparently.

You are right as the purists do as the Italians do and neve use one, instead the use the side of plate. I do as I find it useful, like to twist the spaghetti, never cut and of course try not to slurp either. Though a little whimpering sound is quite excusable, apparently

There is always a rogue strand of spaghetti that winds up on me not in me. Is that excusable too?

As long as you pick it up and put it inside you. Waste not, want not.

Only if using it to test if cooked. You know the thing, tossing it on the wall or ceiling
