As to an hourly going rate for an Electrician please, so I have a rough idea before I get some quotes?

I don't do domestic but I'd say you're looking round the £20 mark. What's the job you're looking at having done as some jobs need more than one person plus the cost of materials- there's a few sparks on here so we could probably give you an idea and heads up on what to ask/tell them

Southwick

You'll probably be quoted for the job rather than for how many hours the job will take. Obviously there is some correlation between the two but if it a small job there will be a minimum charge and possibly a call out fee.

Try Googling to get an idea.

A call out fee should only apply to emergency work- any workman who quoted one to me for standard hours work would be told where he can shove it, plenty of good sparks who won't charge call out

Its just relocating a ceiling fan and switching over light sockets should not take more than an hour..

I would say £20 per hour. Find some one local would be best as its a small job. Have fun sparky
