was wandering if any one could give me the formula used to take % off a amount in excel ?

or point me towards a decent online calculator that ill do it for me

Basic maths is;

1% of any number is easy, then multiply by the % you need.

thanks, just that i have about 200 numbers which i need to take some % off.

Convert the percentage into a decimal (ie divide by 100) so 69% =0.69 etc.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

To add 10% multiply by 1.10. To add 1.75% multiply by 1.0175 and so on. To take off the percentage divide by the figures instead.

There's an iPhone app for percentages. Works any way you need,. I e % of a number. Etc.
